Duncan Wu is the hottest team member since Glory.
The narrative supports this. Mr. Gun Show <3, a jaw that could break faces, baritone rasp since he was 12?

Yes please.

I'm not sure he is a crybaby, hes super uptight though.
xchunchan Aug 21, 2015 @ 5:13am
He's all boo hoo.

He's just a guy who's been wound up for so many years that he doesn't have a good control of his emotions.

In other words, a perfect cop. :-p

Joking. He is a bit tense. Needs some deepweed. Lol

What a weird way to write Racter and/or Gaichu! *Runs away giggling*

Glory is the emotionally distant Ice Princess character, and a lot of the dialog between her and the player is about cracking her cold exterior and convincing her to share her pain. I believe this is where a lot of her appeal comes from.

Maybe Duncan's character is designed to be the gender-reversed version of that role? I'm not far enough into the game to know if the situation is truly similar, but that seems to be the way things are developing so far.

On first impression, Duncan seems a lot more emotional than Glory.

Duncan is very emotional. I like that in a man. After you meet him at the docks, you can try to ask him about how he feels about you coming back after dissapearing for eight years, but he just rebuffs you. But then ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan and he starts losing his composure. Once you escape the cops and Boffet and Is0bel leave you two alone, he falls apart.

It's fantastic build-up.

I preferred Glory personally and her more contained demeanor. Duncan is a mess and in a very unapologetic way which is why he butts heads and comes up with terrible plans and just in general reacts to things terribly. He's a mess always trying to act like he has it under control and then just loses his sh-t when things go wrong.

Glory is a mess but doesn't need to burden everyone around her with it. She doesn't act like she has everything under control she just does what she feels she has to. She tries to move forward and find meaning and purpose in her world that's totally flipped on it head and exists within a world already totally flipped on its head. If she knows you really care, which I admit she doesn't make easy but hey her past is going from street kid to Satan cult to getting cybered to the point of no essence, then she will let you see her for what she is. A mess like the rest of us but willing to deal.

Maybe I'm reading into the characters too much and inserting some of my own perceptions of them in there that aren't there. I really liked both characters. Glory really resonated with me though.

To be fair Glory's had years to come to terms (or at least learn live) with her baggage, plus her Essence's borked enough to deaden her emotional spectrum considerably. Duncan's been thrown quite abruptly into the deep end of ♥♥♥♥ Creek without paddle, which does his general stability and temperament no favors. As he himself notes he *needed* order and structure in his life to help manage his longstanding temper issues, and even as kids the MC was the calm brains of the pair; the current predicament has him understandably rattled and as such somewhat volatile.

Even if you don't allocate any karma points to your MC's intelligence! (yeah, probably not really the same thing, but it still makes me chuckle)

You're everyone's best friend and regular Sympathetic Ear even if you have exactly minimum Charisma, too. And hold your cool in legitimately stressful cirmustances remarkably well even with Willpower 1. :P
Write it down to Gameplay And Story Degregation made necessary by the quirks of the stat system, the difference presumably being made up by personality traits. Canonically everybody views the MC as the most credible leader-type in your Rogues' Gallery after all.

Is he eating enough fiber?

Hrrumph. We've had no sexy teammates of note since Eiger.

Eos is nice enough, I suppose. But the Priiiiiiiiice...
