My character has no weapons!

Okay, did I miss something when I started this game? My character has no guns, none at all. All she uses are these claw weapons.

I looked all over the docks and there were no weapons for me to find and use. The only guy that had a weapon was Duncan. I have a Drone, but I can't use it.

The game is really stupid in how it handles starting equipment. You get one weapon apparently. You literally have to wait until you get back from the mission to deliver a message to Bao before vendors open up.

The hand razors are awesome. My character is still using them 13 hours in, they do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage, stun and bleeding.

Haven't fired a single shot ;)

EDIT: there's a vendor on a boat when you first get to Heoi. Don't even need to complete the Bao job.

Whelp that sucks big time. Hopefully they'll patch this issue. I don't mind having a melee attack, but when it's the only attack method I have and nothing else, then I've got issues.

When I get there I'll be sure to buy the biggest gun they have, as soon as I get past the cops(cops are OP, but that's a rant for another time and palce).

My issue is that I don't have the option of choosing to use a gun. The game is basically saying "You have to wait until you complete X mission before you use a gun. Instead, you have to use a melee attack.". That's a bunch of crap.

I'm not denying that the Hand Razors aren't awesome, but they require me to run out from behined cover, and up to my target, and attack. Half the time, my character does just that, but instead of attacking, my caracter just stands there. I gotta click on the target a second time to initiate the attack.

If you absolutely *must* start with a ranged weapon, put karma into that ranged weapon at character creation.

i.e. if you put 2 karma into pistols, you start the game with a pistol. If you put 3 points in cyber affinity and only 2 in pistols, you get razors. Highest skill at creation gives you that starting weapon.

It's a total non-issue as you can buy a weapon of each type about 10 mins into the game...

This never happened to me in 13 hours... are you sure you're cllicking the enemy directly and not the ground next to them?

It's a bug. When changed map, one of my characters lost all equipment (vest, items, weapon).

Yea. I click on the target, and my character just runs up and stands there. I have to click the target again to get her to attack.

I think he's referring to the starting equipment. He mentioned he has claws, which are a weapon (even though they're technically cyberware).

You only get 1 weapon at the start (your highest skill). If your highest skill is cyber affinity, you get claws. Nothing else.

I'm not saying that that's not an hypothesis, but I'm having the bug above, I don't see why it couldn't happen right in the starting map.

I think this case could be clarified if the OP told us if he has any other equipment (for example, medkit). The bug removes everything, not just the weapons.

What I said above (about the skills) is not a hypothesis. It's a game mechanic.

Whelp seems to have this covered. Oddly I would have done it the other way around!

If I was aware that it was even an option to start with claws, I probably would have adjusted my starting Karma slightly. My standard pistol build could have waited! Seeing the achievement for Claws while the game was downloading made me jump from my seat.

I had been jealous of Glory for too dang long!

Then again, pistols have been serving me far better as a low strength decker, so I can't complain too much.

That's my bad, sorry I didn't clarify before. I have other equipment in my inventory, but no guns.

So, it sounds like Whelp was right and I botched something during character creation. I'll probably have to start over.

Highest skill doesn't totally determine weapon. If you invest in cyber you get razors to start. Had 5 in ranged (3 Rif & 1 SG) and 4 in cyber and had no gun. I actally meant to take off cyber till began to avoid razors but forgot and got this
