*Run past the outside guards to the west and go down the stairs,

With Is0bel as a member of your team, the only way to complete this mission without killing a member of the Yellow Lotus is with Charisma 3 and Gang etiquette.
Just hack the terminal in lower room and open the hatch.
I don't know what my issue was, but every time I tried to walk past the guards at the entrance of the Lotus Den I would get roped into dialogue with said guards. This would invariably result in a fight from which I could not escape without dispatching the guards and failing the optional objective.
I just tried walking past them again, and I was able to proceed without a fight! I can't for the life of me figure out why walking past didn't work before...
