Possible to recruit Gaichu without bloodshed? [SPOILERS WITHIN PROBABLY]
I'm trying to do the Gaichu recruitment mission without killing anyone, but it looks like the Pendant, Astral Perception and Red Spears weren't enough to sway the Elders without violence? I'm just gonna play it out, but is there a non-violent way to do it?

Make sure you use every option in the conversation where you explain things to the elders. The first time, I said that Magpie must be dead because why else would she have dissappeared? I got dragged into the fight with the elders.

Then I reloaded to before the conversation and mentioned her necklace in the sewer and the blood in the storm drain. Peaceful resolution. So yeah, use every dialogue option in the final convo.

I never got into the garage since I didn't have etiquette and I didn't want to just slaughter the guys, so me and my gang just tore the elders a new one.

I don't really know if Gaichu is worth it though, yeah sure he's the warrior powet type and all, but for a melee character he seems to do about the same damage as my main, without the AOE options of a mage.

OK, figured it out. I believe. And yeah, I think HB will need to tweak this mission. It's kind of stupid, when you think about it.

Basically, get all optional objectives (talk to everyone, etc) then when you're pleading your case to the porter, you have to exhaust all the dialogue options, starting from the first available option and progressing down.

My instinct, just as a normal gamer, is to try and pick the most reasonable dialogue option that will get me the best outcome. In this case, as it stands, don't pick the 2nd or 3rd dialogue option first; pick the top dialogue option first, and exhaust all dialogue options.

Weird, I know.

Also @Zagreus, Gaichu is a samurai that eats people. He's worth it.

I don't get it... I can find everything except the tattooed hand. And the funny thing is, I did saw it in the sewers, but at the dialogue with the elders, the option to mention the tattooed hand just didn't show up. In the end I had to reload and slash up the Red Spear gang to gain access to the garage, that seemed to gather enough evidence for the security guy to believe me.

The hand is just there as an option to calm down the russian smugglers.

I agree with HerpDerp - I've played through this mission several times, got all the evidence, and didn't even know it was possible to finifh it without bloodshed. Once I found out you could do it without bloodshed, I tried a bunch of tips above, and none of them worked except HerpDerp's. So this is how you do it: (from HerpDerp's post above)

So, I don't have etiquette, so I can't get into the parking garage without a fight. I have done everything else, as far as I know, and I have tried all speech options, but Porter still says that "the waters are muddy" and that Gaichu has to die. When I say I won't let them kill him, a fight starts.
Any idea what I could be missing, or how else I can get into the garage? It seems pretty buggy, since Porter seems to be siding with me the whole time until he makes his final decision.

Edit - I figured it out. I had gone into the storeroom, but not Magpie's actual shop. I had to show the elders her necklace, then look around her shop before going to the storeroom.

In other words, the triggers for this mission need some tweaking. Hopefully, the developers are already looking at this, because I've done every optional part of the mission, *except* examine Tong's body personally (because I don't have 3 bio to examine the body myself, nor do I have 5 willpower/astral to check out the astral trail).

If I also need to show the necklace to the elders prior to the meeting (to avoid bloodshed), then I guess players have to directly disregard Duncan's comment in Maggie's shop, about not trusting the Elders with any information *at all* from that point in the questline. *ARGH*

Developers, hope you're looking into this...

Super odd, I did not show the elders the necklace, because I went already into the her shop before I found the neclace. The guy did not believe me, had done apparently everything and still it was no use.

Let me see if I remember all the arguments you have to present to Porter Lam:

1. Gaichu was contracted by the Elders to kill Magpie:
- Blood in the Shower
- Pendant in the storm drains
- Missing data from Magpies servers
- The Police was let into Whampoa to kill Gaichu

2. Gaichu is not a mindless killer:
- His last vicitm has been killed swiftly by a strike to the neck (Biotech required)
- Astral Presence suggests that there has been no struggle (Shaman required)
- Blood smeared at the walls was just a distraction
- Suggest taking Gaichu with you (dunno if that's important)

I completed that mission just now, without any bloodshed or etiquette.

(SPOILER)

Talked to the elders,
Checked the scene with astral spell, and with the help of Gobbet and Racter
Talked to Zippy,
Asked for the key to Magpie,
Checked the toilett there and found the box in the desk
Talked to that guy on the streets with purple glasses about the gang in the parking garage (Don't remember the guy's name, but its starting with the letter 'D')
Checked the garage, the gang did not let me to check out the scene, but told about the sewers,
Got the key to the sewers from Rainbow, and found a tattoed hand, Magpie's necklace, and a team there - they gave me Magpie's storage room key,
Went to Magpie's storeroom, where i didn't attacked Gaichu, just let him speak, and asked him to work with me,
Went to the elders, and told all the things i have gathered, so their security guy believed me,
Went home, profit.

I hope i remembered right, so could help.

Dunno if this is necroing or whatever, but I found this post on google when I was having the same problem.

I did the level with these steps, and did a quicksave before talking to the ghoul. It didn't work, but I ended up making it work afterwards, in case anyone else had the same problem.

Next to Rainbow, who is in a room next to the elders, is a tailor who you can show the armour nugget to. She will comment that in order to damage the armour to this extent, they would have known that they would be going up against that particular armour and catered to it.

After talking to this tailor, a new branch of dialogue added up and then I no longer got stuck at the "muddied waters" trigger.

(Note that this meant I had to do the optional search the garage. You need either gang, socialite, or to clear them out).
