Hand razors/spurs - close combat for hit, cyberware for crit
Whip - ranged combat for hit - cyberware for crit.
Unarmed and melee have nothing to do with them, cyberware gives the skills that these use.
Also what do you think about Qi casting paired with this, at least 2-3 points?
You get bonus essence from the cyberware line, so chi casting would probably work well with it. I'm curious if you can equipmultiple pieces of cyberware to similar areas (multiple chest pieces) do to the revamp.
So most probably you can only pick up the defensive stuff, I don't know if that worths so many points in WP though...
I figure Qi is still worth it for Stride at the very least.
I personally thought the game was pretty clear on this.
I also don't see Qi Focus, is it taken out of the game?
I can't find a way to put away claws though (it goes to #1 slot where everyone else has unarmed). So at this point it's pretty illogical to me why it isn't considered unarmed - there's no way for someone that's equipped with claws to use Qi unarmed bonuses.
No it's absolutely not.
It's a completely reasonable and also extremely important for character creation. I thought that was glaring right from the start.
This. If you have surgically-implanted claws and an ability that affects your "unarmed" attacks, it's only logical that ability affects your attacks made with those claws, which you can't put down because they're now part of your body. Different story if you had a shotgun for an arm; that's obviously a ranged weapon. And a whip is obviously a melee weapon. But in my experience, most games treat claws/gauntlets as "unarmed" attacks.
And just to echo the sentiment: the game is absolutely not clear in explaining that cyberwear definitely does not count as "unarmed," even though once you have cyberwear you can no longer make unarmed attacks. So if you have a cyberwear weapon, spending even one point in unarmed is apparently a complete waste.
