What type of character did you play?
What type of character did you play and who ran with you. I played a human who was cybered up and used hand razors for a main weapon and a pistol for some range. The people thet I usually had were Gaichu, Gobbet, and Duncan.

Troll Shaman, Gaichu, Racter and Is0bel. I would've liked to add Duncan in more runs, but I needed the decker.

Human Decker/Rigger(probably leaning full rigger next time, I normally use decking mostly for the checks you run into), he was cybered up towards the end with a cyberwhip, semi-proficient with rifles. Normally ran with Gaichu, Racter, and Is0bel. Have yet to complete it, but I am 98% of the way done.

Human. Used to be a medical student but becomes a runner. High biotech and decking skills. A little bit rifle skill

Quickness based Street Samurai Elf and pretty cybered up. That whip cyberweapon is crazy good and together with rifle skills and dodge + willpower your a one man army. I usually had the Decker around to grab extra paydata and Ractor, because his drone is crazy good. Wu and Gobbet I used sparringly. Though Gobbets cloud skill is awesome against the final boss.

I try to do something different every time. I also try to make it a character I've had before that fits the story that I've worked with before. For the Dead Man Switch, I had my first character ever, an orc gunner that I had awaken during the adventure. In Dragonfall, I had a human shaman that I had originally intended to follow Dog (which works out because of Dante). This time, I've got my heavy Troll, a guy who can wade into danger and destroy the opposition.

I prefer to use my immediate comrades in missions. It not only saves money that I could be using on my personal expenses, but they're all useful characters, as well.

My first playthrough was as a Shaman, but I was testing a mod giving him access to the mage spells via conjuring. This gave me some points for melee as well, pretty fun.

Right now I'm playing a melee based cybered up troll samurai, using throwing for ranged and cyber claws up close. Pretty fun just obliterating people with the claw swipes. The ninja star hits really hard too.

Usually play either dps or support characterzs, mainly went with Isobel, Racter and Duncan. Felt like they were most effective setup for me.

Played an Elf Decker with an assault rifle, because I like the utility of it. Took the required amount of Charisma + appropriate etiquettes, 3 points in Biotech, so I can see enemy HP and meet a couple of Bio 3 skillchecks, no points in ESP control because it's entirely unnecessary, then go 7 Int/Decking, 7 Quickness/Ranged, 6 dodge, and 3 in Rifles, plus 5 Body/Cyber afinity.

Once that's taken care of, I cyber my poor elf into essence oblivion, getting Wired reflexes for the extra AP, then focussing on boost my combat effectiveness with skillwires, enhanced articulation and a laser designator eye.

Favourite team to run with is Gobbet, Duncan and Racter.

First time: Human, Superchromed (Spurs) and Rifles. Teammates were always Gaichu, Duncan, and either Izzy or Racket.

Second time: Elf Shaman/adept. Teammates are Gaichu, Racket, and Gobbet.

Mage with some conjuring, admittedly first for Haste … I got into using a Totem in Berlin.
It is quite efficient (I think) but first of all fun with blazing fireballs, team combos and all.
Often dwarves, but the max karma doesn't matter a lot in the games.

My first playthrough was a female elven Fish Shaman who used a Monofilament whip (aka her 'Fishing line'). Most of her points were spent in Charisma/Conjuring, and Quickness/Dodge/Range. With three points in Cyberweaponry to cover the whip's essence loss.

She used the whole team at various points. But Duncan, Is0bel and Gaichu were used the most.

My current playthrough is a human Decker/Swordsman. Uses Gobbet more.

I was a human cyber-slash-deck-rigger. Razers, cyberdeck, and two drones. Wired reflexes and gobbet haste for extra AP. Unleash three attacks that do AP damage, then unleash two drones with 3 attacks each for a total of 9 attacks on a single character. I usually ran with Gobbet, Racter, and Duncan. You can't beat gunshow's CC. Stun baton/subdue = first round kill. Good stuff

Eyyy, my kinda decker!

Ran a human melee/decker build myself, think it ended up something like 7 STR/6INT/5BOD/4QUI before cyberware bonuses. Mostly cybered up to shore up my weaknesses like hp from mediocre body and quickness/str.

Killed Gaichu so I ran with Gobbet and Duncan exclusively while switching Is0bel and Racter often (needed Is0 for a couple bugged decker jackpoints especially).

I'm thinking about dropping melee weapons and going cyberspurs next time but I get the feeling they don't do ap damage as often, are they any good?

Yo these builds are really cool. The fish shaman with the whip is cool and decker/rigger sounds fun. I might try a burned out mage next after I finish my gun adept playthrough.

1st:
Full mage (11/11 will/spellcasting with fetishes) with PA dip for martial defense to safely use dragon lines, body/cyber affinity 6 for wired reflexes/cyber eye and rest into quickness/dodge. Also cobra totem. Pretty OP when dragon lines are available, quite mediocre otherwise. Mostly used Is0bel, Gobbet and Gaichu.

2nd (abandoned for now):
Troll cyber samurai with claws and dipping into PA for martial defense. Mostly using Is0bel, Gobbet and Gaichu.

3rd:
Human rigger with maxed drone combat and 2 full auto drones, eagle totem to buff drones, some decking for dialogues and mark target but no actual deck. Magnet arm to protect drones vs grenades. Weak in the earlygame, probably the strongest build lategame (most battles end in 1 turn). Used mostly Is0bel, Gobbet and Racter (bought him a 2nd drone instead of his useless pistol for a nice drone army).

Is0bel and Gobbet are probably the strongest companions overall. Is0bel is almost mandatory if you're not a decker and with her grenade launcher she's also likely the best ranged combatant on the team excluding PC. Gobbet for support, and her nature fetish is quite OP for tougher battles.
