I got all the nodes. I didn't even do anything special.

I just finished a run where I played a decker specifically because of this problem. I had enjoyed the new Matrix up until the first time I hit that mission. Now I hate it.

I did see someone post that if you buy a Fairlight Excaliber, Is0bel can use it and it makes life easier. The extra AP point helps a lot, s/he said.

That's not what "literally" means, yo.

You probably grabbed a bunch of worthless skills for your decker. If you grab all the skills on the bottom tree for improving her decking she is a goddess of war. That tar ability is an AoE blast that doesn't calculate chance to hit by her skill but how close she is to the open tile shes targeting. Bottom line she hits a large area and always hits her target, has a high chance to flank and one shot alot of ic's all at once.

Make use of her accuracy buff and assassin/shield progams. The assassin program can crit for 375 damage if you buff its accuracy and use that assinate ability it has. The shield program can prevent Black IC's from harming your decker outside the cybernet with the shield buff. The programs may not hit very often but their abilities and presence spreads the aggro and reduces alot of potential incoming damage.

That's all well and good, but in the rescue mission you are on a timer and it takes Is0bel a long time to defeat ICE compared to a real decker. Perhaps giving her the Fairlight helps. I plan to try it next run.

Yes it is difficult to clear the cybernet at times i've even had ot reload once or twice. I never once bought her a fairlight deck though, usually i manage to just barely pull it off with 2 or 3 turns remaining before i fail the mission. It's all how you play it out and how often you miss/hit or crit i guess.

I never played on any difficulty but hard btw, so things should be way easier if your playing normal or medium.

Played on default difficulty with Is0bel and didn't come even close to running out of time. I really need to play on hard the next time.
TheDeadDude Aug 28, 2015 @ 12:29am
Only difference in hard difficulty is that you can miss 25% of the time even if you have an accuracy rate of 99%. It's stupid but i guess it's the only way the devs could scale the game with out doing alot of work.

Aoe attacks that can hit the ground where people stand are the best abilities you can get in the game. The reason being is it calculates your skills only and not your opponents dodge and etc. This is why tar is so good, it works like a blaster 2/3 ability with an additional effect of forcing things to remain in place for a turn.

Both times I ran it on hard, I had 7 rounds left when I finished the matrix part of the ASIST mission. Have Is0bel drop the assassin and shield programs, buff the programs and Is0bel with the sniffer program and then go to town. As long as you don't cause a system overload it should be pretty straight forward.

Edit: You are getting 3 matrix turns for every real turn, right? Also, the timer doesn't go down when you 're running around outside of turn-based mode.

wat? I did it on hard on first try with Is0bel without ever buying her any gear. I mean, sure, I had 1 turn left when I did but that's besides the point.

Did it last night on normal difficulty, without ever touching on the assassin/shield programs. I honestly never even went to a vendor for decker-equipment, since I burned all my money on fetishes. It wasn't easy and I had only 2 rounds left when it finished, but given the circumstances (vanilla Is0bel with no additional gear/skills) it's absolutely, definitely possible.

Well that's just not true...
Your chance to hit is as is shown in the game. On hard difficulty you chance to hit is considerably lower, so that Sniffer is actually useful, but if the accuracy rate says 99%, it's certainly not 75% as you imply...

I got all the nodes in this mission, I'm not sure what you did. However I gotta say I didn't enjoy the sneaking around game mechanic inside the Matrix. It's pretty frustrating to move a character square by square with timed precision to avoid the eyes, WITH a computer mouse! This type of action in a game usually performed by keyboard arrow keys, because the movement is in Squares not free movement (ie. Diablo).
El Zoido Aug 28, 2015 @ 2:38am
That mission can be a bit frustrating, esp on hard, since the time limit can be a problem if you don't take out the enemies fast enough and probably draw some tracer IC on top of it.

Make use of acc-buffs and damaging abilities, don't forget your programs, save often (after each successful node as long as you didn't take too much time for it), try to make use of the turn-based combat mode to evade the tracer IC.

Took me a while as well when I did it, esp. since I got a bit unlucky with the dice rolls.

I did it with Is0bel no problem at normal difficulty on my first playthrough. She can handle it just fine, remember to use her ESPs though. ESPs are critical to use with NPCs you don't have much control over. Blitz was the same way last game. Since you're having trouble I reccomend buying an extra ESP to fill the empty slot she has. (Attacker is good)

Whenever you get into a fight with IC, put all three out on the first round right in front of her. Have the Shield ESP put a shield on Izzy first action. Have the Assassin use his special attack on the nearest IC to remove an enemy as quickly as possible. Have the Attacker use his Tar attack on any grouping of targets. Then have everyone focus their remaining attacks on the nearest enemy standing after all that.

Combat gets easier on the second round since you'll have four characters worth of attacks.
