Racter Drones

Backed Shadow Returns, but bought KH via GOG because Steam.

Is racter able to take a 2nd drone along with Kos? By the end he has drone control 6 and combat 5.

Wasnt sure and since money is tight...best ask.

Also, this version has SEVERE lack of items to find, and its pretty agravating that the game isnt explained very well as regards equipment for your NPCs. Money is VERY tight and id wish id have known that only some of there equipment levels up with them....there should be tags on each item showing its tied to there level...I wasted a bunch of nuyen on armors in the beginning before catching on.

Its also very frustating not to be able to check npc stats/gear while your in Hoei.

I agree with the tight money bit - being a street samurai person I only bought two weapons - an AK97 and the Ares Alpha - and still I didn't afford more cyber than I had 3 essence by the end. (Also bought two pieces of armor.).

You can equip teammates with stuff, so Racter should be able to equip a drone, but I haven't tried.

If you got to equip all of em, a bit more income wouldn't hurt. :)

Racter has a pistol and a drone control thingy in addition to his drone, so all his slots are filled

Well, for one Gobbets spells sort of advance, but if you really want to make her useful her spells have to be bought...and you need to make sure she has the levels required to do so.


I didnt expect an answer so soon, but if you get rid of racters pistol he can indeed use another drone...unfortunetly even the 2750 drone has terrible accuracy...the only upside is that Racters special tuning gun can increase the accuracy or repair any drone.

The money situation is crazy rediculous though; I cant imagine being able to complete the game on the hardest difficulty with such a limited amount. You will be absolutely STARVED for equipment by end game.

It feels like the money is tight but it's not nearly as bad as it seems. On hardest it'll probably be worse because of the consumable costs but.. gear-wise I had no issue even though at first it felt like I couldn't afford anything. I managed to buy myself rifles, including the top of the line Ares with smartlink, good amount of cyberware and three different armors too during he game. and I still ended up sitting on spare cash :p

I do agree though that I sort of preferred Dragonfalls approach where you could buy or go through upgrades between missions rather than going through a couple to save up and then upgrade.

you cant get rid of racters pistol permanently, but you can just equip the drone there on the mission load out screen. NPCs only get more slots for items as the relevant skill increases, but there slots are blank.

No, because Racter doesnt invest in pistols very much

It was more of a general observation, really, with regard to spells for Gobbet etc. Still, it was worth a thought, but like SR said, he doesn't.

Then I'm confused on how to get him another drone, as his gear, and the gear of all NPCs show with a wee lock icon, making me unable to swap anything out during mission planning.

..... the lock items mean nothing..just move it to stash.

You cant move locked items to the stash but you can move stash items over the locked items.

The item you replaced will disappear. When you remove the loaned item the locked item will reappear in the slot.

Racters best secondary combat drone is the Steel Lynx Mk 2. He never gets above a 6.
