First Char to play as and not miss a ton of things?
Loved the others, gonna play this, but what to play? In Dragonfall you basically had to be a decker. If you didnt go decker you missed out on a TON. I was told this beforehand by forums and was glad for it.

In hong kong i hear matrix is redone (awesome!) but they also added more cyber options (even more awesome). Apparently they redid magic as well. So now im torn and dont know what to do.

Shaman for Cha maxing for options is good, but might miss decking, if decking is not a big deal in the game and not a big portion like it was in dragonfall then tis no loss.

On other hand, i REALLY want to do a 100% cyberzombie killbot, even better if that killbot can be a decker but i dont think the karma is there to do the kill skills + decking +cha

Whats the best character to not miss out on things in game? And what skills are the most used? Without spoilers would be best please. Thanks!

There's very little you'll miss out on regardless of what you play. Getting your Charisma up to 7 (super easy with the +1 Charisma fetishes from the Parlor of the Five Phases) and bringing the Decker companion will cover just about all of your bases.

Acutally I did play a decker in Dragonfall, but what do you miss out on if you don't? You still have Blitz for the job.

is there enough karma to go around that building a cybered out street sam with cha and decking is possible? i like my 4 man team to be basically the team from dragonfall, it was rteally effective.

also iirc there were gaps in what was avalible in dead mans switch NPC companion wise, and in dragonfall you were sorta defaulted into glory, eiger, and deitreich, though there was blitz he sucked.

This time around, your crew's decker is fairly competant, and there aren't any missions where you have to leave her behind (like there were in Dragonfall), so you won't lose much from being matrix illiterate... But you aren't playing a decker (and possibly even if you are), I would recommend a token investment in Summoning (enough to get a totem, and perhaps hold the occasional seance) and a point in either Spellcasting or Conjuring to unlock astral perception options (nothing really important, but there is at least one coversation where astral perception unlock a chain of dialogue that's absolutely priceless ^^).

you miss out on being able to leave blitz and take oneof the other 3, who are far better.

Also his skill wont be as high as yours, and im on bloodline now in dragonfall, but i recall some fairly high checks of 7 or so, and blitz is like 5.

i cant recall what they were, i think something to do with drones.

you also miss out on easily hacking all the terminals and passwords

what skills levels do i need to hit for those, and will it get in the way of essence loss from full out cybering yourself?

Actually by the end stretch of the game, Blitz was a pretty awesome decker. It just takes him longer than the rest of the crew to get his act together...

The real issue was that there were several side missions where you simply couldn't bring him along...

Well that's why I asked, the only missions I can recall that you can't take him to are the personal missions of Glory and Eiger, Feuerstelle and The Engineer. The first one didn't have any decking whatsoever and the latter only one for a passcode that you could also get for 500 nuyen.

Edit: Forgot the trial run, that one actually has two decking options you'd miss out of, but I wouldn't call that "much".

I never had problems with him in that regard... actually, in Bloodlines, Blitz is slightly superior to the PC because usually by that point he has the best deck availalbe, while the PC is still limited to third tier or worse.

3 Summoning, 1 Conjuring (to unlock both the +Charisma fetishes and the astral perception options) would do. And you can still chrome yourself to the gills if you like, so long as you aren't expecting to cast any spells.

Sorry, didn't see you there... there was also the 'audition' mission for Luca and the Black Lodge, where a Decker would have several options othe characters would not, including the chance to make some extra cash and completly avoid any combat on the way out.

See Edit above :)

Edit: Also the first decking options just opens two doors, one of which you can open another way, and the second room only has the other decking option that gets you some cash, so that one possibility to get some nuyen is really all you miss out on.

True, that isn't much ^^

wow really? somehow on the luca mission i missed that and had to fight my way out even as a decker.

its crazy how easy it can be to miss things like that.

so other than 3 summon 1 conjure i could go fully chromed street sam deathmachine and not miss out on a bunch of skill options?

would i have enough karma to go into Charisma as well? ettiqutes and such are nice to have, and are any of the ettiqueqs used alot more than others? So far there was only one time Shadowrunner has been useful in dragonfall, Security and Street have came up alot.

There are two more exits other than go through the lobby actually, one is indeed decker exclusive and can be opened while you get that cash in opportunity, the other one can be accessed either through decking or paying VERY good attention from the beginning.

I sadly can't answer your HK question however since I haven't finished the game yet myself, sorry.
