Amor spell is no longer Hermetic and mana spells get stoped by armor.
So, all the armor spells are now from the conjuring school? That is a serious nerf for hermetic mages ( and missleading due to the icon, wasted a good chunk of money on Armor III and had to reload the game).

Also, now mana bolt and mana ball attacks the target Armor... those spells should not do that, they attack the target spirit directly ( was like that on previous editions - dont remember dragon fall DC- and its also like that on the tabletop RPG).

Anyway, do some one knows of a mod to change those things? Being looking around but found nothing.
Also any insight on why those changes? Chamans dont really need that buff and mana spells being Armor independent gave then real use vs heavily armored targets, what is no longer the case as even with AP 3 or 4 you'll not do any substantial damage vs high armor on cover.

Not like *any* direct combat spells gave a toss about your armour in PnP, since both types work by "aura grounding". Hardly the biggest difference in the rules.

Don't Manabolt and Manaball *pierce* armor rather than damage it? I checked the item code for Manabolt and it has "rpPenetrate: 2", meaning it ignores up to 2 Armor, rather than "stripping" (damaging) 2 armor, as spells like Weaken Armour does. Comparing the code from DMS and Dragonfall, it seems the HK Manabolts are identical to Dragonfall's versions, and the only change from DMS is the line to ignore armor (as it should, given it directly attacks spirit as you said). Maybe I'm missing something, though?

The Armor spell changes from Spellcasting to Conjuring, however, is a big change. Since you asked, I knocked up a quick mod that should change it back to the "old version" of those spells, thus making them for Mages rather than Shamans again. I will give it a quick test tonight, and post a link tomorrow if all works and you still want it!

Banjo, I imagine you are talking a way to mod the Bytes files right? could I ask you hod to do that so I can put in the fix I made for the Remington Roomsweeper pistol? (always bugged me that the main game version always used pistol skills and animations).
Watchman Nov 15, 2015 @ 6:25am
The Roomsweeper *is* a pistol though... been that way since PnP 1st ed. And a succession of devs have by now failed elementary firearms design with it, among others, for ~25 years. :^)

I just finished and have done basic testing on my aforementioned mod and it seems to work, so as soon as the OP replies (or someone else wants it) I'll post it so folks can play with the "old school" Armor spells of DMS and Dragonfall... no more Conjuring required! :) Never used Steam Workshop before, so not sure if I will do it that way, via Nexus, or another way. Any preferences?

@Honzou: you can save any source code in the editor (using "Tools -> Save Project As Source") which converts the bytes files to text files that can be easily edited by hand, but if you're asking because you just need to put your modded Roomsweeper item into the Hong Kong campaign, drop me a line and I'll explain how I did it with the above-mentioned mod that I will be posting hopefully tomorrow.

Cool, thanks.

Yes it is a Pistol but the in game description doesn't match the animations or skills. So I just tweaked the skills and animations to match the description of "spread of a shotgun in the package of a pistol".

@Banjo thanks, I just need to know how to convert it to BYTES and making sure it appears in the campaign. :)

Here you go, OP! Hope this works okay. Please give me feedback if this has solved your issue, or if there are problems with the mod.

Banjo's SRHK Old School Mod[www.nexusmods.com]

Currently, it just reverts Armor spells to their Dragonfall "Spellcasting" versions, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Apologies for using Nexus, but I've never used Steam workshop before, and this way all platform users easily download and install the mod.

@Honzou I've headed over to your Workshop discussion thread to help you out there!

Well, thank you Banjo Oz, shame I cant use the mod on my actual save game, but for future new games that I'll come really handy.
Banjo Oz Nov 16, 2015 @ 6:41pm
You're welcome! Technically, if you make a backup of the HongKong folder, you could unpack the mod and copy the modded .bytes files over the top of the vanilla campaign ones, and that in theory would let you use it with your current save, though that would be at your own risk! :)

Yeah it worked like a charm so thanks mate.
Indeed Banjo, I'll do that. Thanks

Awesome to hear! Hopefully others find a use for these two mods as well!
