So I fought both given that there was no other option. The world sucks already, so you might as well die on your own terms and give the middle finger to the corps that put you in that position in the first place.
sounds a lot more honest than "WE CAN HEAL U COS WE ARE DABEST"
although i do hope HBS will somehow show the outcome in the end
And simply because he sounded more "honest" could just as easily mean he was just the better liar, which makes sense given his position in the corporate food chain.
And the only reason she wanted to leave is because they used her as a test subject and then, as she is dying, they refused to do anything about it and then locked her up to prevent their secrets from getting out.
She was obviously aware of her impending death and her company's failure to do anything about it made her want to leave, so regardless of his attempts to save face and attempt to get her to stay the truth remains she wasn't getting what she needed from them in the first place; why would they do anything different after you give her up? They will probably lock her down even more now that she ran away once.
I mean, if they had intentions to save her, why weren't they doing it in the first place? Not like her running away suddenly made them grow a conscience, and once they have her back there is nothing stopping the corp from reneging on their deal for anything as simple as saving her not being 'profitable'.
The quest embodies the cyberpunk genre very well; there really is no perfect ending, and any of the options are going to end with either the corporations winning or the individual losing.
But good lord, that Adept was a PITA. He immediately went after Gobbet and dodged multiple assualt cannon rounds.
It helped that both Duncan and I had magnetic cyber arms; we could group fairly close together, behind good cover, and not have to worry about grenades. Best cyber investment ever!
Even so, we had used every grenade, BuMoNa kit, medikit, combat stim and every summoning token by the time the fray had ended. We were "running on empty", as the song goes. Whew!
There's an even harder fight in Tai Po; I suspect it might come in handy there.
Told ya so.
Steel core: I already was at the armory in the HKPD Headquarters, but couldn't open the armory door. I had no decker with me, and Lam's PDA doesn't work on the armory door. Do I have to assault the cops in the station before joining up with Qiu in order to grab some other guy's PDA?
And how did you manage to get the assault cannon for the Yamatetsu/Fushi scenario? I didn't think you could return after heading out to Tai Po.
The Quartermaster has a minigun for sale, but I have seen those in use in DF, so not a novelty. I really want to see how the Panther works.
One of the matrix triggers lets those doors be unlocked by commlink, although I don't remember 100% where it is...
is hilarious.
When replaying and choosing other outcomes I noticed that the amount of karma awarded is the same, and that only the payment in nuyen varies, so the game isn't worth the risk (because you don't really need too much money at that part of the game).
