Yamatetsu or Fuchi?(spoilers)
on the secondary missions in the new campeign. when you have to rescue the "little girl"

what did you choose in the end?

bring her to Yamatetsu as planned, bring her back to Fuchi or fight both and die horribly?

a very interesting dillema indeed. i chose Fuchi.

for starters, i didn't kill anyone in their building, managed to sneak past and sweet-talk my way out of all combat. so i had no bad blood with them when the final battle started. having that adept on my side helped a lot.

second. Fuchi just seemed the most trustworthy. yes, they F'd up lillie's experiment, but at least they admit that and promise to help every way they can.

the yamatetsu mercs are really sketchy on the other hand. they promise heal her completly even though they never had access to this kind of technology at all. and when i told her to choose fuchi they just coldy sneered "if we can't have her, no one can". just further proves they are liars who only wanted to disect her.

so what do you think? who did you trust?

It's cyberpunk. Both Fuch and Yamatetsu were lying, and were willing to say whatever she wanted to hear. I doubt either had any intentions of living up to their promises.

So I fought both given that there was no other option. The world sucks already, so you might as well die on your own terms and give the middle finger to the corps that put you in that position in the first place.
thing is fuchi didn't sound like they are just saying what lilly wants to hear. they did admit they fked up and they did say that there's a sagnificant chance they will fail to treat her.

sounds a lot more honest than "WE CAN HEAL U COS WE ARE DABEST"

although i do hope HBS will somehow show the outcome in the end

They had her locked up for quite some time, without getting her into a lab or hospital or even having a doctor on staff to watch her. They were waiting out the clock for her to die in some warped sense of humane treatment instead of executing her and then dissecting her.

And simply because he sounded more "honest" could just as easily mean he was just the better liar, which makes sense given his position in the corporate food chain.
they had her locked up as soon as she exressed the intetion of escaping and thus ensuring her death... he might have been a better liar but he did have solid evidence that Yamatetsu wanted to disect her as well... i just went for the option that gave her the most chances of living

The problem is you have to take his word for it; he presented literally no proof apart from his words. Simply because the Yama captain had a short temper simply played into his supposed truth even moreso.

And the only reason she wanted to leave is because they used her as a test subject and then, as she is dying, they refused to do anything about it and then locked her up to prevent their secrets from getting out.

She was obviously aware of her impending death and her company's failure to do anything about it made her want to leave, so regardless of his attempts to save face and attempt to get her to stay the truth remains she wasn't getting what she needed from them in the first place; why would they do anything different after you give her up? They will probably lock her down even more now that she ran away once.

I mean, if they had intentions to save her, why weren't they doing it in the first place? Not like her running away suddenly made them grow a conscience, and once they have her back there is nothing stopping the corp from reneging on their deal for anything as simple as saving her not being 'profitable'.

The quest embodies the cyberpunk genre very well; there really is no perfect ending, and any of the options are going to end with either the corporations winning or the individual losing.

well i really wish we could see the outcome.. would save a lot of trouble

I killed everyone. Not because I'm such a softie, but because rep is important, and Lillian WAS my employer. If she wants a short, corp-free life, so be it.

But good lord, that Adept was a PITA. He immediately went after Gobbet and dodged multiple assualt cannon rounds.

I told them both to go sod off. The result was a confused massive three-way melee that is one of the harder fights in the game; they have a HUGE number of reinforcements. Best bet is to get out of the way, establish a defensive perimeter down in the SW corner and let them weaken each other as much as possible, then go after the winner.

It helped that both Duncan and I had magnetic cyber arms; we could group fairly close together, behind good cover, and not have to worry about grenades. Best cyber investment ever!

Even so, we had used every grenade, BuMoNa kit, medikit, combat stim and every summoning token by the time the fray had ended. We were "running on empty", as the song goes. Whew!

P.S. Where do you get that assault cannon again? I don't recall ever seeing it for sale.

There's an even harder fight in Tai Po; I suspect it might come in handy there.

You find it in the armory of the Tiger's Den

Did the "pox on both your houses" choice per the client's instructions. The resulting chaos... yow. First turn was basically "burn all 3 AP running for cover in a corner", most of the rest of the battle hunkering down and shooting at anybody who approached, heh.

Steel core: I already was at the armory in the HKPD Headquarters, but couldn't open the armory door. I had no decker with me, and Lam's PDA doesn't work on the armory door. Do I have to assault the cops in the station before joining up with Qiu in order to grab some other guy's PDA?

And how did you manage to get the assault cannon for the Yamatetsu/Fushi scenario? I didn't think you could return after heading out to Tai Po.

The Quartermaster has a minigun for sale, but I have seen those in use in DF, so not a novelty. I really want to see how the Panther works.

frd-You can take side jobs as usual from among the pirates. I did Tai Po last, and Tiger's Den first.

One of the matrix triggers lets those doors be unlocked by commlink, although I don't remember 100% where it is...

Minor point, but Gobbet's post-mission comment

And we got paid! A lot! So it was a happy ending for everyone, except for all of those people we killed!

is hilarious.

Chose to fight both during my first playthrough, only because i thought that I would have recieved some extra karma like in the "data retrieval" mission during the main campaign.
When replaying and choosing other outcomes I noticed that the amount of karma awarded is the same, and that only the payment in nuyen varies, so the game isn't worth the risk (because you don't really need too much money at that part of the game).
