Why does everyone call her Auntie? Am I missing a cultural note here, or is this somethign similar to why everyone calls Don Corleone "Godfather" in The Godfather? I know she comments about a show of respect if you call her Auntie Cheng during your first dialogue, but I'm not certain she isn't being a but snide about it.

It is a cultural thing, far as I know. It's probably not literally Auntie but instead 'older female of a familial acquiantance.' like how certain families have aunts and uncles who aren't blood related.

It's simply a formality and a title that she's known by more than anything else. They refer to her as auntie in the context as one you would describe as a "guardian of sorts" who "takes care of you" in troubling times. They don't call her auntie because she is a great person or anything. More than anything else the nickname "Kindly Cheng" is ironic as hell being used to describe one of the most cruel women imaginable.

Cantonese culture dictates calling someone "Auntie" or "Uncle" as a polite way of showing your respect for their authority.

Auntie is such a cool character. I liked the boss lady from Shadowrun returns too. It was like a chinese-black woman with a big face. What was her name?

Heck yeah, she was dope. The game has so many amazing characters. Just looking at them makes me want to make a backstory side mission with the level editor.
