Seems like without exploits HK is more money tight than xp so that will be your bottleneck if I remember correctly.
Not being able to loot bodies will make it difficult to raise capital for sure.
Oh, and a few mild spoilers.
It is possible, but it's got some drawbacks. Mainly that you can only have those three weapon slots. That's two drones, and the deck.
Also, been a while, but here's what I recall:
.
.
.
.
.
.
*There's a special deck at Is0bells special mission. Basically got the combat stats of the top end decks, but with much lower health & stat costs. If you're careful it will last you the whole game.
*Unarmed attacks & Cyber-weapons stay in their own, special 'fist' slot. If you start with... 3 in cyber affinity I think it was, you start with the cheap claws. These will give you a 'good enough' melee attack, in case you're drones are destroyed on-mission. Note: the first weapons still take a weapon slot.
*You can also get a free drone, cyber-jack and deck at character creation if you've got stats high enough. 3-4 in each, I think. Not amazing gear, but it's a start, and as mentioned above HK is very stingy with the nuyen right up to end-game. Just make sure your essence was deducted right, there's a nasty bug with that, and no in-game way of gaining more.
*Chi casting and cyber-weapons don't stack... with one exception, the shock hand. Been meaning to try that one out, but don't bother with the chi stuff on a rigger/decker. You'll be spread thin as-is.
*Don't bother with the ESP skill. They're a money sink like no other, and not even nearly worth it in matrix combat even then.
Hope that helps!
My current character is a D/R multiclass they even share the same main stat.
Would replay with a street samurai or an physical adept
You see, there's no point in playing decker if you turn out to be worse than Isobel and her decking is for free. Yours will cost you.
