I don't get the point of cheating through the game, bit that's how you can do it. (Shrug)
You can spend your karma in whatever way you like... The game(s) are really designed not to show you everything in a single playthru, but rather have different paths open because of your build.
But it's a single player game... So knock yourself out. These games don't use an opposed test, or any kind of skill vs stat mechanics. It uses the "you must be this tall to ride" threshold instead.
You can play the game intelligently, with or without a buffed intellegence stat.
Other games do this better imo. Where dialogue related stats and functional ones are separated so you can be more free in how you roleplay.
Like most games with stats systems, it rewards excellence in one or two areas over "jack of all trades" builds... As it should.

Different strokes for different folks.
Again, there are games that have separate stat pools for dialogue and functional skills. Allowing you to have a more diverse range of characters to role play.
What i said was, that you can increase both stats after character creation.
Since many roleplaying games do not allow you increase certain "base stats" after character creation this might be a useful piece of information.
This means that you dont need to start out with "high" strenght/intelligence if you run out of karma, since you are free to add points later.
(or you put as much into both as you want at cc instead of other skills).
I have no idea how well a physical adept/brawler works in general because i have not tried one yet.
Your cast of party members is pretty well rounded and powerful so being somewhat lackluster in your early fights is not a big deal.
Also, you still can play buffed up decker, just put your points into body and int. You prolly won't have MUCH strength or dex, but boy you'll be tough to kill. And smart.
Or you can go strenght/int YOLO rigger/streetsam mix. Basically, hide away and kill stuff with your murderbot, if things go south - TAKE THOSE CLAWS IMPLANTS AND GO HAM. Though you will be a glass cannon.
Basically, you can't be super good at everything. That's what Shadowrun was always about. Killing stuff is the most specific "role" that requires the most dedication and badly mixes with other stuff, aside from Rigger, maybe. Street Samurai murder-machine is a dedicated role that needs a lot of stats being put into specific stats. But you usually only need one, really. In most games. Shamans, Deckers, Riggers, Party-faces, Infiltrators - those are usually sub-par in open combat, but they fulfill their specific roles. Because they have Street Samurai to kill freaking everything.
If you don't believe me, try making a Street Sam in Hong Kong. Cyber-one. Melee. With support from Shaman and some drugs, you can tear through so much.
