Use your allies supplies. They refresh every mission for free. Yours do not.
Wu likes ranged. He should almost never be in melee unless he's using a Shotgun or his Subdue ability.
Well, Katana on Wu isn't the optimal choice. Well early on you can do that, but later on, when you can get the electrocuting sticks/tonfas via skilling for free, the katana is worthless.
Also, the longer it goes you'll see that Wu is way better with guns than being a melee. Especially when you get the Laser for free (an optional weapon, which you can only get once), you want it on Wu. And in terms of Sniper RIfles you have a higher accuracy the further away you stand from your enemies. So, going melee doesn't make that much sense on Wu.
Money is tight compared to SSR or Dragonfall, ok? If you are economical on those 2 games then you can save up to >30k nuyen later on. That's how I completed my first SSR playthrough. Dragonfall was compareable.
It's tight, but not too tight. Unless you play something exotic like a Summoning Shaman (where 1 consumable fetish may cost 800-1000 Nuyen) then you shouldn't have too much trouble. *SPOILER* If you want to have some direction: calculate with ~ 17k nuyen for the main campaign. *SPOILER*
What Lumino says is true: use the set supplies your comrades have, cause these are getting restocked after a mission.
... and Shotgun isn't such a good choice either, cause he has nothing in that Shotgun-Skill Tree.
In general you shouldn't randomly buy weapons for your companions. You need to go with their profession progression.
money can be tight. but I never really felt the need to equip the team, the team was well enough equipped If you do all the missions you'll have enough money.
