My main party is Palom, Porom, Leonora, Luca and Ursula.
I gave Palom dualcast which allows him to use Black Magic twice in one turn. Porom and Leonora are here so it's like having both dualcast Black and White Magic.
There's one boss fight that will punish you for not having Rydia in your party, which is very dumb. The fight even becomes harder if you didn't save her two summons.
Double Jump on Kain and Ceodore is probably the most damage per time and characters from any attack in the game. It isn't THE most damaging, but it only takes two characters to perform and executes very fast for a Band ability, and easily does 20k+ damage late game.
Best tank is definitely between Cecil and Golbez. Cecil has a bit better stats, hp, and itemization, but Taunt is a better ability than Cover. Since anyone can wear an entire set of Adamant Armor, if you have that, Golbez edges out.
All of the black mages and white mages are sort of equal, except whoever you give Dualcast to will be the best.
Rydia seems very underpowered in this game compared to the FFIV unfortunately. For the most part, simply her casting black magic does more damage than most summons.
