Yeah, a working cheat engine is a must, I remember that level spike at the end of each story with no actual good grinding area from the wii version...

i am using this cheat table https://vgtrainers.com/load/categories/editors_scripts/final_fantasy_iv_the_after_years_table_for_cheat_engine_2017_dec_14_drummerix/31-1-0-1584 to play the game. you should use cheat engine 7.4 so that the cheat table works ok and it doesn't crash the game
