Repairing Dolls in Steam version?

I'm wondering if there's a way to repair Calca and Brina in this Steam release. The way in past releases (fight the Quarto Puppets when the moon is waxing and hope for drops for the Nut/Screw) doesn't seem to work- there are never any encounters in the room, regardless of moon phase. You get the Mythril Spring which is also needed from an encounter as you leave the mine though, which makes me think there has to be SOME way to do it. Has anyone figured out how to do this?

I'm pretty sure those get repaired later, i'm in the crystals tale and both are functional.

In this version you are allowed to lose only one character, and much later.

If I remember correctly the items you needed could be found in chests. But it's a while since I played the tale. But I know I found them.

I played through the game a little more, and it turns out the springs are acquired automatically as you leave with no need to get the bolts/nuts in this version.

After you obtain the agartite, you'll encounter a force battle with 2 dolls, they will drop 2 mithril springs, that's all you will need to fix up Calca and Brina in this version
