Hero of the Kingdom II

Why is it always a girl/woman getting kidnapped?
Why can't a guy get kidnapped, just for once? How hard it is to step away from the "damsel in distress" cliche? It's almost no wonder the whole gaming crowd is misogynistic.

No one wants to rape some dude. Always a woman. That's how it always been.
There are plenty of men in distress who need rescuing in this game. Why are you overlooking them and pretending that only women need rescuing in this game Janet? And where did you go? Just going to make accusations and run off?

That's the trouble with the Feminist Frequency videos too. They're full of inaccurate statements about the characters in the games, e.g. saying women are placed in levels to be killed in Hitman when they're actually there to tell the player what a bad guy the bad guy is (and killing them actively penalises the player's score and increases the difficulty of the level).

Very true. Those feminist types don't know what they're talking about.Instead of wanting it equal for both man and woman, they focus on the woman and think it only happens to them.

For EX. They cried about how men find women in the olympics attractive and comment on their beauty. They say that men are disgusting, etc. Yet, they do that to Micheal Phelps and many other men.

They only see things one way, it's as if, their minds are extremely limited.

They don't have to worry about male attention for too long. When they get old they'll have all the time in the world to spend with their cats and no men in sight to bother them.

Just going to point out that I didn't post the stuff quoted above ^^
It's true, my name should be within thst quote box.
I don't understand why now stories with "classical" elements are getting attacked. Take it or leave it, it's that simple in my opinion. It's a free world, dear SJWs.

Because many of the "classical" elements are racist or sexist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And it's because it's a free world that people are empowered to question or reject those elements of traditional culture.

Sorry if you have a problem with that.

Have you ever seen a happy, well adjusted SJW? Neither have I. They're miserable in their own lives and spread that misery to everyone else.

Yeah, but it has nothing to do with "people are empowered" if they look at a certain story, go to the forum of it and then go like "Oh, but why is this story so and so? And not so and so?" This just makes no sense at all. SJWs must really be restless if they go after stories like this game here, somewhat set in medieval times. Or just from a storyteller's point of view: A "damsel in distress" gets kidnapped and a guy tries to rescue her. That is a story. It's not unethical in any way.

I like to have different storys. Actually if I compare my library with curators page of "Feminist Frequency" on Steam, I have quite a lot titles in common, which I really do like. And especially titles I love, which Mrs. Sarkeesian will not be able to make sour for me. :happy_creep: Or if I went through my most played games and check for empowered female supporting or female leading role characters in those games. I find plenty. So I don't have a problem with that. (Also I reject the notion to underline "empowered" for a female character, because for me ALL characters/human beings are empowered.)

I'm just not ok from a storyteller's point of view, from a (general) author's point of view, if some stories are now labeled "not ok". A story is a story. Marking certain stories as "not ok" is beginning of the end of free speech. Argh, why am I writing this? Maybe because I'm suprised to find SJWs also in this forum. Look, I don't whine around in maybe Portal's forum about "Why is Chell not the G-Man?" ;-) Or I don't whine around in "Mirror's Edge" forum about "Why is the main character not male?" Because I like both stories very much. I choose stories I like and just happen to let me be entertained, moved, whatever, by a certain type of story. I don't have any inner censorship bureaucracy department in my brain which filters certain types of stories just because of plain factual aspects of a story.

It's also a free world, that I take your "debate" seriously.

PS: You now what gets really complicated? Movies like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". A somewhat "guy in distress" gets rescued by "manic pixie dream girl". Or they both try to rescue themselves. What do you make of such stories? And now I'm laughing because I feel silly of using all these "femfreq" buzzword terms. I don't need these very strict rigid categories, like you seem to perhaps.

You are probably right, quaxior! Thanks. I guess I will just ignore this discussion for a while now. I feel a bit guilty of answering it in the first place (because of "bumping" this topic). Especially SJWs crave for attention like nothing else.

Janet Yellen, Steam level 0. Certainly a troll profile.
