Record video/gifs
This game is pretty nuts and you can make some amazing stuff. I would find it amazing if there was a way to export videos or create gifs of your machines so that you can share them.

AMD/Radeon cards have something similar called GVR (for 77XX series and up).

What shadowplay does is continually write to a temporary file on your harddrive using the rendered output of your graphics card. If something amazing happens in a game you can just hit the hotkey for saving the temporary video file into a permanent copy. You can set it to record just 1 minute of gameplay up to 20, or continually stream to a permanent file.
The performance impact of using shadowplay (for me) is ~5 fps, and I'm recording at 1080p @ 60fps (which is nice, since youtube now supports 60fps videos).

This is different from programs such as FRAPS which has a massive performance impact on your CPU, while shadowplay/GVR has very little (as both draw video directly from the it's own little processor on the graphics card).
Expect your FPS to drop by almost/more than half when using FRAPS. It also has to be saving to a permanent file constantly in order to capture video, so the diskspace used (if you record a whole gameplay session) is immense, even if you only end up using a few seconds of the entire gameplay.

Some info about the differences/comparisons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDKK0L5ewOs

I have an Nvidia graphics card and have used Shadowplay to record other games before but it won't work on Besiege and I have no idea why. It doesn't give me the little icon in the corner or anything. Any help?

That's strange. It works fine for me. Have you updated Nvidia GeForce Experience?
Works fine for me as well. One thing you can do to make sure it will record ANY game is allow recording of desktop. Its in the shadowplay settings. I could not record 7DTD until I enabled that setting.Go into Geforce expereince and in shadowplay settings click "Allow desktop capture"

I'm actually on a laptop so there's probably something up with that. I found a way to use ShadowPlay even though it's not enabled on laptops but it doesn't look quite the same as it does on desktops (from videos I've seen). There should be a checkbox for desktop capture under the monitor, right?

After recording the footage in Shadowplay, how do you edit & compose a gif (using freeware software)?
