Copy pasting to another build
Please add a way to copy a selection from one build and paste it to another. As it stands now, we have to keep rebuilding the exact same thing if we want some form of shared component.

Before someone tell me to use mods or whatever, no, that is not a solution. The game should have these these basic functions in the vanilla game. I just feel the game lacks a lot of these very basic functions and these essential things should not be offloaded for mods to handle.
There's a lot of other things I feel should just be in the base vanilla game but I won't get in to those.

You already can. You can hold CTRL and click a part to get multiple selected and duplicated for detailed copies. For big dupes you just need to drag select (dont know what its called in english, when you select multiple things while holding LMB) and hit copy, then turn the move option on and you can place the copies. For this you do need to have Advanced Building on though, a setting that is a vanilla feature.

That only copies to the build you are currently working on. If i load a different file, it doesn't carry over.

use Additive Loading mod to load creations without removing the build

I only just discovered this mod... I have another solution however:

Have a single saved machine, name it " "machine Lab " always build all of your machines and parts in that save file and then delete whatever you don't use when you're done and save your machine under a new name. BOOM!

Pretty cool right?

This is useful for me... I get ideals for mechanisms...sometimes fifty a day, so I want to JUST BUILD that mechanism, but then later on I want to use it in a larger machine and I don't want to build it from scratch.

That solution can pose a problem if your builds get particularly complex, or if you've made a lot of machines.

it isn't meant to be a solution, it's meant to be a workaround and a smart way to build and that's what it is.
