Game crashes on startup
Hi, after the last update, besiege crashes on startup. I've noticed that this happens with all the games that are made with Unity. Here's the output_log: https://pastebin.com/gjhx2uRx
Any help would be appreciate, thanks in advance :steamhappy:

that's a weird log, have you tried uninsalling and reinstalling unity entirely?

Yeah, I've already did that. Even Unity crashes when opening any project.

I think the problem are DirectX libraries, beacause forcing unity to use OpenGL make it run. Someone knows the soloution of this?

After reinstalling DirectX, Unity works but the game keeps crashing, here's the log https://pastebin.com/MEjTV6dR

Hi Nikgreppi,

Could you try running besiege with the "-force-d3d9" launch option (don't include the quotes)?

Hi, Fictional Fury. I have the exact same problem that Nikgreppi had. I reinstalled the game, verified the game files, and also tried running the game with the "-force-d3d9" launch option. But for me, it just doesn`t work. It's a shame because Besiege is such a fantastic game, and I was really looking forward to the new update.
What should I do now? :sad_creep:
Also, here's the output_log: https://pastebin.com/c8M0U4GZ
Thanks in advance!!

Good to hear it's now working for you too Nikgreppi!
Alternatively, could you try to run it without the force-d3d9 option and try the following steps:

1. Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel
2. Go to Display, Adjust desktop size and position
3. Change the scaling mode from "Aspect Ratio" to "No scaling"

It could help us determine the origin of this bug.

Hey Qwernasivob,

Could you create a new topic with that exact text? It'll help us keep track of different issues.

I have an AMD card, and i can't find similar options on the radeon settings. Can you tell me where they are?
Fictional Fury Dec 16, 2017 @ 8:38pm
Oh right, I forgot you were on AMD.

The AMD scaling option can be found in the "AMD Settings" app.

However, it should be turned off by default so I'm not sure if this is going to work. Could you take a look and see if it's indeed turned on and if it helps turning it off?

Thanks!

It was already off, so It wasn't the culprit

Okay, thanks Nikgreppi for checking that.
Happy holidays!

Closing thread: issue has been resolved.
