And then the fans jump to the games defense
"It's early access"
"It's the price of a McDonalds"
"I played 5 hours"
Like yeah... They're trying to make it sound good but good games don't need to be justified or evaluated on a value per money basis...
If it's not something I'll get hooked into, I don't really want to even try it.
But the game does look interesting.
Well right now he's playing a different game, Hunter the Primal, so that should tell you.
I get your point and you are totally right.
But in their defense i saw the game and thought, looks cool, probably cost ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like everything else. But then i saw the the price and i simply thought to myself "Well ♥♥♥♥, i can earn this by working for one hour, so why not give it a try" ^^ And the price vs content balance is something that is usually commented for every other game so why not this? I mean, honestly, i'm suprised how cheap a game with almost unlimited content could become.
It's not a game you will play five hours a day like, i don't know, counter-strike or battlefield or CoD. It's something you'll probably end up playing three or four times a week for a couple of hours, it's a lovely game for the creative and innovative mind!
Even when playing the best of games, I still mix it up.
I think I might try this sometime this week, if I find the time.
- I played it a fair bit already yes, and i honestly love it so far!
What kind of argument are you trying to pull here mate? Primal i can play with mates since its an online game where as Besieged is not.. I played besieged most of the night and morning when i had no mates online and now that i do i went back to primal for some time, doesn't at all mean i don't like the game. xD
I haven't read alot of the reviews but let me tell you what i like about the game.
For one i being able so sit for myself sometimes and chill, not having to talk to anyone or think about anything.
I also love building stuff but damn, i'm too lazy to do it in real life so why not do it in a game?
I like being creative and trying out new designs and mechanichs.
Once in a while playing action games/shooters/mmo's can get very stressfull, hell, even a day at work or in school can be stressing.
This game allows me to all this stuff and isn't stressing me out any point, everything is so peacefull (Until you unleash hell on some castle or a sheep). And i'm sure i'll be playing it a couple of times a week just like i wrote before ^^
edit: I take it back I've already dumped all of my gaming hours this weekend into this game
It's not going to be a game for everyone. But if you like games like Bridge Constructor and playing with red stone contraptions in Minecraft, this is well worth the money. It does favor people with mechanical engineering skills and interests. It's not a game that's going to play itself. You have to think a lot outside of the box to come up with suitable siege engines to handle different situations.
Personally, I just built a triple catapult with double frontal kamikaze bombs to take out the final stage. You don't have to actually survive to win. :)
One thing to note, according to the notes on the store page, the devs has a low cost now, because there isn't much content, but as more content get added they are going to raise the price. So early adopters will benefit from buying it now instead of later.
Would have given it a negative review, if I had my steam key yet, because the price of the game simply doesn't reflect how little content is on offer.
You're basically paying money for a tech demo. A good tech demo, but nothing that should be sold as a game.
To you it might not be a game yet. To me it's already a game with loads of content, i spent about four hours making this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFvxed2yPOk
and i still have loads of ideas of how to change it and adjust it to make better in flight. I actually enjoy sitting around doing pointless stuff and this is probably some of the coolest pointless stuff i have come by to date. I'd say try http://www.algodoo.com/ which is free. If you like sitting there making weird pointless stuff and experimenting with the physics then i'm sure you will enjoy this game!
