Propellers just for show?
With the name "aerodynamic propeller" I had assumed it would function as a normal propeller might. But when I made a twin engine plane sitting on unpowered wheels, it doens't push the plane AT ALL. THe little whirly gig things work, but I have little interest in making a plane out of those. Anyone know what the deal with propellers is?

The propellers might be the wrong direction If the 'wide' side is facing forward, rotate the propeller until it's the 'skinny' side.

I thought it might be something so simple, so I double and triple checked the propellers before making this post.

Planes need to be very light for propellers to work, you are almost better off using the screw propellers or whatever they are called. Are you starting your plane from the ground?

The plane is sititng stationary on the ground on 4 unpowered wheels. It utilizes two opposite spinning powered cogs to rotate 8 propellers in total. I wasn't neccesarily expecting it to fly being I never see people use propellers in videos. I was however expeting SOME forward thrust. The machine simply shakes a bit when the engines are engaged.

Start your plane mid air and you should see some forward thrust. Remove any unnecessary weight, including the wheels.

I decided to try wing sections in place of propellers and it works. I guess propellers are just complete garbage.

They seem to do ok on helicopters.

Can you post a pic of how you were using the propellers?

I think propellers generate more force than flying blocks. In any case, propellers are certainly not "complete garbage". Post your machine and let us take a look?

the props face the wrong direction, you can get forward trust if you adjust it

if my props were facing the wrong direction, I would at the very least go backwards. This is not the case. I linked the bsg file of the plane.

I downloaded your file before my first post, there flat in the wind... Truelly the wrong direction, they need to cut in the air. Adjust it and it will work! (works here but it can't fly, to heavy)

Hey, is there a gore setting in the game?

Also, air resistance is a thing. If you've got a not-very-aerodynamic part behind the prop, it's not going to produce much thrust, if any.
