How do you battle friends?

My friend and i are new to besiege multiplayer and I was wondering how we can battle each other because whenever we want to interact with each other we go through each other

If both of you have the same version (both of you are experiemental or both of you have the official version) and both of you have a steam

One of you host a game, the other simply go to the host's Steam profile and press the green button (iirc) "Play Game" and it should automatically connect to your friend's server

its not that we can get each other in the game its just we ghost through each other when we drive through.

You need to make sure that global simulation is enabled by the server and that both players are currently in global simulation mode, otherwise you'll only be simulating your machine locally.

you go on multiplayer and make a new world. but before you enter the world you create a password for it, and then give the password to your friend. then he goes on the multiplayer thing, clicks join and then types in the password. done!
