Another Steam fail
Load up the demo, crashed at start 3 times. Bye bye, I will buy the game at GOG where they make sure the games actually run!

Game is fine. Only the demo has issues running.

Managed to get it running using the solution published in the 'Order of War demo crash solution' thread. Just a case of deleting the "page_back.bik" file from the Steam/steamapps/common/Order of war/demo/data/video/ui folder.

haha, not even, once you get to the 4th or 5th mission, (both German and American Campaign) the game will start to crash with the "out of memory" bullcrap i've been accustomed to. Thus, leaving you to save after every couple of minutes. Wait! It gets better! Say you make it pass those missions, once you boot up "Fight for the Fatherland" (German Campaign), the game just says "♥♥♥♥ you, i'm gonna crash on startup of the mission".
Don't get me wrong though, it's an amazing game (when it works, it reminds me a lot of WIC)... but the bugs kill any amusement.

No offence to the particular developers, but they tend to switch trademarks and abandon half-done games.

Works perfectly for me on Win 8.1 so more than likely a setting or hardware issue.
@dragonbo3, wait until you complete a couple of missions, your opinion of the performance will change extremely fast

the game runs fine

Because two 970 GTXs (4GB per card) (SLI enabled) and 16 GB of ram should be going out of memory on a 2009 game?

Sorry, but on Hill of Sorrow (Mission 5) where you have to hold two roads (preventing the Germans from retreating) and it crashes ALWAYS halfway through the mission. Such crap. NewYorkCheesesteak is correct on that theory. I haven't played the Germans yet, but if this is going on with the American campaign, I might as just uninstall this game and go play another title. I tried this with two different computers and the result is still the same (even on low graphics).

Yes, it goes out of memory because it is a 32 bits game which can see only 2GB of your ram, minus the ram needed to access your devices (like graphic cards).
When such games run on modern systems they have less and less RAM available, because the devices take more and more of these 2GB.

Please try the modified executables from the other thread about out of memory, they can see and use 4GB of RAM.
You have to make sure other unnecessary software are not running because when they use part of the first 4GB of your RAM then it is not available anymore for the game. Kill unneeded processes in the task manager.
