Pocono is impossible?
The default set up for Pocono makes it so the AI is about 2 seconds faster than me, even when driving clean laps. I've been messing around with the tuning and have improved my overall time slightly but still can't get below 50s.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for racing at Pocono?

You can google some help with racing setups. The one or two I have used slips my mind except one was Ricky Bobby setups for Nascar. These were a little loose for me,but you can find some that may help. Setups are the best way to go head to head online and for A.I. tracks. Good Luck!

glad i wasnt the only one having problems, they are just flying around the turns no matter what i do

It's Not Impossible. Just Race Hard And Do vAnything To Win. This Does Include Spinning Other Cars Out ;-). What I Always Do :)

Tweak grill tape to temperature dont go so high and that wont lose power during race.
AI at 100% will demand that u learn how get time laps around 48.2-48.4 secs. Turn 2 u can do very fast, discover point to u cut out trottle, dont brake here. Turn 3 break a little early to enter with good control of car and flat ou and see big sponsor placard.

Turn 1 will need good skill cuz u need "dive" out to in braking at last moment (LOL...was hard to me find that).
AI has best performance at turn 3. Hope helped u!

You cannot race this track in automatic transmission, need to be able to downshift as they do in real life here, been a long time since I raced this track but if I remember right downshift into 3rd for the tunnel turn (3 and 4) then stay in 4th through 5 and 6, 1 and 2

and you have to spin others to win
if i cant pass a guy clean then i wont spin him but if i have the speed but im being blocked i will turn you

I Dont Always Sin People. Only 3/10 Of The Time. And If U Use A Custom Setup With Lowered Tire Pressure U Dont Have o Do Da Shifting Thing.

This entire game in single player mode is quite frustrating....I never get in the top 20 with perfect laps either. Single player mode makes you worthless...

Do 25% Difficulty. It Makes U Feel Like A Winner :)

I have it set to zero....still can't get up to top with perfect laps... No matter how perfect my laps are...on straight aways the other cars just blow ahead of me and i can never catch up. Forget about dreaming of top 10...i can't even get in the 30's....
