How long is it?
Couldnt find that information. What i could read in other threads is that it is possible to 100% it in under 3 hours which seems pretty short.

The last metroidvania i played was "ori and the blind forest" which was pretty good when it comes to game lenght. Took me about 9 hours for my first playthrought (100% completion). Did some speedruns any % to get achievments. So how is this one compared?

Normal players familiar with this type of style should only take about 4 to 5 hours. But then the game gives you a new mode to play that pretty much goes "you beat the game now do it even faster"

That unfortunatly sounds pretty short to me. Guess i will wait till its at least half the price. "Dust", "Ori" and "Guacamellee" have pretty good playtimes. Not to long neither to short.

Thats a bummer :(

Personally I played for 10-11 hours on the 1st run. Didn't read any online walkthroughs for the secrets and stuff and so, searching by myself, it took longer, but didn't felt like a chore, or boring. Compared to Risky's Revenge, you have here like triple the game time. Feels more like the 1st game, minus the headaches :D

Be it now, or when it's on sale, go for it and you won't regret it.

It's got a huge replay value (played Risky's Revenge like 6 times and Pirate's Curse 10 times)

I've been playing for 15 hours and I've only just beaten the fourth major boss, Dagron. Granted, I'm also writing an achievement walkthrough for the game, so that's why I'm going so slow.

Lol yeah now that I think about it I must be a pro. Because thinking back, seeing a lot of Risky's Revenge first time playing a lot of people took 9 hours plus. Cause they had no idea what they were doing. I played a lot of games like this style, so I guess I'm used to it.

It's definetly good for about 9 hours to 100% it if you don't know it. Though a lot of it depends on how much you actually find early -- there's a number of items you can grab before they tell you to grab them so you have less traversing back and forth.

Well 8 hours sounds fair. Guess ill think this one through. Im really interested in this one and i like those kind of games. I mean "metroidvania" + "pixelart done right" what could you ask for :D

Just finished my first playthrough and it took me about 6 and a half hours to beat the entire thing.

However considering that beating the game also unlocks a bonus mode and such i can still see me replay it and i also did not uncover all the secrets that the game has to offer so there is still stuff to do (also may try to beat that time since i had to unnessesary backtrack to get heartsquids i could have gotten early same with certaint Chacklebats)

And considering that you mentioned guacamelee it took me just as long to beat that game although i ignored the El Infernio challenges for the most part (only did the 10 Silver ones you need for Pollo BOmber in the Super Turbo Championship Edition)

I'm 7+ hours in (according to Steam, in the game it shows less playtime) and would guess that there's still some hours of content left in the game for the 1st playthrough.

Shantae games are what you can call "Metroidvania-light". They don't have as much exploration and backtracking as the other titles, they are also somewhat short.

But while previous game was just good, this one is pretty awesome, even if short. And great as a beginner's metroidvania.

Just finished it, took me 8-9 hours (100%)

The game shows "Total Play Time: 08:37:02", but Steam says 10.6 hours. I have no idea why there's a difference of 2 hours, because I only had the game running while playing. But for me the game was worth the price, it was great! :D
