Wanna skip it? You actually can. There's a glitch involving the cap's little extra vertical movement on activation, and the fact that it's cancellable with the cannon extra-jumps.
Just time it well enough, you can skip any floor.
Else, i'm going to have to pull out the "git gud" card. But not as rude. Honestly just keep trying, get some practice on it, don't be bold, don't panic, plan your approaches out...
But yeah, the lack of safe-spots inbetween some of those platforming challenges, make them ridiculous.
Edit; i just remembered the wind section. That one's annoying too. Remember how the hat parachute has some activation time, and really, take your time. Singleplayer games are supposed NOT to make people angry as easily, as compared to multiplayer ones that can get really stupid when trying to account for someone else's decisions.
Like I said, if the rest of the game required skills of this level or if the game steadily lead you up to this point it would be ok. But it doesn't. The rest of the game is pretty easy, and then you get a brick in the face.
The comic is only funny because it's true, and the difficulty is only bad because it's out of proportion.
Just noting in case you want the no-damage achievement.
Don't forget to save you game everytime you're in the tower interior, and to go back a screen to refresh the jars and get a heart when you're on the second trial before you connect to the tower
What a nonsense thing to say. Platformers on NES/SNES were a lot easier unless the controls were poor.
though there are actually two ways to skip the entire dungeon and move straight to the boss. the hat manipulation mentioned above, and there's also a very simple out of bounds glitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGWoc4nnE5M (this can be very helpful for the speedrun achievements but i wouldn't recommend skipping on a normal playthrough)
Anyways, I had a feeling there might have been a way to manipulate the extra vertical lift from the Pirate Hat, and I tried for awhile to get it to work, but to no avail. I watched a speedrun after I beat the game and realized it WAS possible. My jaw dropped, 'cause I realized I didn't have to suffer through those stupid rooms.
I can't seem to do it, so yeah - has this been patched?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. My timing was off. I should have guessed - end user error, as usual.
