The final stage is supposed to be testing some if not all of your skills percieved in the way.
If you can't be bothered to play something based on trial-and-error learning, go play a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "modern competitive game" and flame everyone like everyone does.
The level is not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and there's a legit skip. It's hard and actually takes planning, and RETRIES.
Stop thinking of this as an insult, nobody is attacking you. You're not bad for missing one thing once, if you think so you're just wrong. These devs run on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ water drops compared to the feast major AAA devs run on, and still make more solid and fun games.
I get that the level is hard and annoying, but really, it's the last level, thank god you didn't get to the final boss, i can already see your house would get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flood with your sweat and/or tears. Not even sure though, because the "cry more" thing is garbage and overrated. Bad flame.
So here's my insight. Do git gud. Improve. People will play this again, there's something called multiple endings, speedrunning, and just replayability in general. And even if it wasn't replayable, a good difficulty makes a good challenge.
"But this isn't difficulty, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!"
This, is moderately difficult
"The Impossible Game" and other flash jokes, are actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
TLDR; please calm the ♥♥♥♥ down and stop spewing fallacies.
BTW there are two possible outcomes regarding if you have all the black magic or not, so yes, you need to beat the level twice.
How much you tried before giving up? 10 minutes?
Pls git gud or at least acknowledge that you just suck at this kind of things and that isn't fault of the developers.
PS: Watching the end on Youtube, pfffjjjjj
Anyway, I put forth that if someone like me, who sucks at video games, can beat this...almost anyone who can get to that point should be able to beat it.
Damn good final boss, though, I'll give it that. Was nice being able to put my rarely-used powerup items to good use.
That means that usually you should climb twice since the other option is save at the top, make first without the dark magic and then load the save, go down, collect all the dark magic and bla bla bla.
But well, this kind of levels are what make platform games so satisfying, since completing it is hard but gives you that feel of accomplishment.
Trial and error is the only way to learn where the cheap insta-kill walls are, but that's not so much the level design's fault; it's the camera's. That whole room has an unfair difficulty spike it shouldn't otherwise have because of it.
The camera staying front and center on Shantae in the overworld is okay, because it's overall designed with Risky's boots in mind with lots of breathing room to jump around or stop yourself. The final dungeon to the Pirate Master is the exact opposite. Even flashing signs on the right side of the screen ala Freedom Planet would have been preferable to nothing.
However, you can flip switches afterwards so that you only need the cannon to scale back up the tower, so I can forgive it in this one instance. WayForward otherwise have great level designers on board.
Surprisingly not that hard! You can trivialize the whole boss fight with the Pirate Master using a bubble shield- and auto-potions for those occasional hits, because he *will* take a whole two hearts from you even by contact damage if you're not careful.
Its kinda sad to see a game that was as enjoyable as this game is end up crutching on long spans of instant death spikes and bottomless pits for the home stretch.
It doesn't matter how long it takes but what emotions it leaves...
IT IS INFURATING... I mean where the hell you have any reason to boost up difficulty suddenly in platforming section by 1000% WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO DEATHROOMS WHEN WHOLE GAME WAS A WALK IN THE PARK?
HOW DO YOU PREPARE PLAYER FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT? IS IT FUN TO LOOSE ALL HP POTIONS BECAUSE GAME IS THROWING ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AT YOU RIGHT BEFORE END?
answer is NO and it is very good reason for major negative review, even though whole game is fun despite backtracking.
You mean you had NO trouble with mud bog island? Frostbite island?
But yet had so much trouble in the final area, which doesn't even have any enemies (except a couple bats) that you're raging all that much?
It's not that hard mate... calm down.
