Modding RIDE (adding new bikes, tracks, etc.)
Is it possible? will the devs release the proper tools so we can add our own 3D bike models to the game? Otherwise this game makes no sense to be released on PC.

No. You already have 114 bikes man.
And It makes sense to be released on PC for me.

I'm not here to discuss that, just asking if this game will accept mods or not.

I'm a senior 3D artist and long time motorcycle rider. I don't care about most of the modern bikes in this game, so I can make the ones I like if I have the proper tools to get them in game.

I do know my share of 3D modeling:

I understand your point, but milestone game don't accept mod (bikes and tracks). it's sad.
With your skills, we could have beautiful motorcycles.
But if you want to mod a bike game, take a look about GPBikes.

Nice modeling by the way.
I did some car modeling long time ago but I change for VFX in movie production. ;)

Thanks, you have good skills too! Too bad the devs don't care about modding then, I was hoping to finally have a bike game on PC we can mod and ride whatever bike we want.
I'm a big fan of the 80's 550 from Kawasaki, owned 4 GPz's and currently have an '83 550 in perfect conditions. Would love to trash them in a game!

GPBikes from what I could see it's still to fresh, needs a lot to be improved on to my liking, but I'm considering it since it's the only option were we can make our own bikes.

Yeah, just trash them in the game !
Nice collection.
I ride on Ducati 1000 Sport Classic and I love it.
I'm sad, the model is not in the game, and I would like to do it in Ride.
But no mod.
So, one day, maybe we will have the perfect game...

I reckon we`ll be seeing more DLC over the coming months, Classic and vintage bikes (Some cafe racers from the 60-70`s would be great) and more tracks.

Tracks would sell very well and mix in some classic tracks such as Mallory Park in the 70`s or my personal favorite layout Daytona from the early 70`s. Both very challenging courses especially when raced on bikes that were pocket rockes with very little thought for stopping. Would be marvelous. Can`t imagine the rights to courses of that age would be too expensive.

Just to add support as well, modding tools would be great but as I said I think Milestone will look at Ride as a long term platform to bring more content to bike racing fans. but we can hope.

Mini.

I hope so. It would be awesome !

We can already extract .MIX files. Unfortunately, but expected, 3D models (in bin format) are not readable, and it's the same thing for a big part of data (sounds for example). You also have access to BML files, which are mainly config files, where you can modify the DOF for example and tune some stuff ingame.

Textures are in dds and we can modify them in order to create custom paints and change track textures. You just need to repack the game files once it's done.

About GP-Bikes, it's a bit different compared to Ride. It's a real simulator, not a game for everyone. It's not perfect, has some bugs, not the prettiest game ever, but it's a great game for every bike enthousiast and perfect if you like to mod (you can mod 3D bikes, bike physics, create track, etc).

Modding would be fine the game need more tracks for this awesome bikes like the IoM or the Green Hell in Germany this game have so many capability but it is like the SBK and MGP Series they dont give us and the game a chance. instead they bring every year a new game with more bugs to get again money from us.......milestone goes the same way like EA

Since you guys are on about modding ill post here rather than making a thread:

Does anyone know any way at all to edit the deadzone of handling in this game through any form of game file (because theres no option to do this in the game)?

Its starting to annoy me using a controller or keyboard, where when you turn left/right the steering kicks in like 2 or 3 seconds after holding the button/stick completely left or right, it makes the steering feel so unresponsive, and then suddenly overly responsive, if that makes any sense. (iv tried different brand controllers and they all have the same problem)

Im assuming this is simply a deadzone that needs to be edited for this game only, because in the controller settings on my laptop and on other games, they dont reproduce this massive deadzone that only Ride seems to have.

Has anyone played round with the internals of this game and found anything that could help me out? Or atleast point me in the right direction to look?

Cheers guys!

I'll have a look :)

I'd love to see graphics enhancers for this game, something about the way it looks just feels off at times, would love to see the modding community come into play as for file digging, an ENB series would probably do wonders aswell.

No Chance to set the Controller sensitivity new they put it again in .BML Format

If anyone can crack the .bin file format and somehow we can add our own 3D models to the game, then I'm up for the task, got plenty of experience as a 3D artist... I just don't have the brains to do the programming it would take to crack the format.
