You mean like in RTS games, stategy games, puzzle games, WASD is only really "standard" for first and 3rd person games, neither of which applies to IC, so no they wont stop making them when it is infact the best way to play games like this, imagine trying to move while also pressing the hotkeys for skills and using them, it only works in smite because it is actually a 3rd person perspective, when doing a top down perspective on something that isn't a hack and slash you'll find it rather uncomfortable to play and you really wont be able to play as well
Shards of War is a top down view with WASD movement and it's very comfortable to play.
The only reason this game gets away with WASD movement is because the autoattacks in this game are automatic weapons that you can just hold down. In order to do this they had to remove last hitting that most MOBAs have and limit your item selection to something you choose before the match even starts. Very little strategy and customization in that game due to basic mechanics.
Isometric games should not have WASD movement. It makes no sense.
Not really what i would class as a moba personally but developers seem to use terms loosely, thats more of a twin stick shooter with a couple of skills, the kind of crap you would play on a console lol
Its also made by a german company more comfortable with browser based games, i wouldn't really hold out for it myself :P
You control one character at all times, whether he gets from A to B via keyboard or mouse is meaningless and neither choice is inherently superior over the other.
You are talking about attacks, which require clicking on a target. There's no reason that basic movement requires the mouse.
Your post makes no sense.
You make no sense. In mobas camera isnt locked to your hero, for a lot of time you actually dont even see your own hero and just click where you want to go, with wasd you couldnt do it because you would stuck on some ♥♥♥♥♥ obstacle, now you click and game generates path where you go. Just get gud you casual.
You can still use WASD while using the mouse to move the camera. But left clicking to move and attack? That has to be super annoying. But obviously if you're used to it, you don't see it that way. Same with console players. They think a controller is superior over mouse and keyboard, but it's reallly not because you have more control with a mouse and keyboard. Same with WASD movement.
Again, you moved camera, now you dont see your hero, you observe what happens in lane. With current controls you can just click and your hero comes while you watch what happens, with your suggestion you couldnt do that, you need to see your hero when using wasd.

Now that's just being lazy. I'll click click and watch him move? Do you not want complete control over your character?
