Wedzel Wolf Patch
So i beat the game yesterday and didn't get the Helping Hat achievement although all three merchants in town were out of their houses and i did everything i could. So i read the achievement again and it stated "Got a wedzel wolf patch". I didn't get this one so i assume i recieve it from the blacksmith near the end? i don't want to play all of it a third time in 2 days... anyone have an idea?

you have to keep the door out of town closed, so when you go through it, go up to it and press a so you dont leave it open. Once you see the wolves fighting over the steak in town, you cant get it.

Yeah i know that, thats what i did last time and i didn't get the achievement thou i completed the potion and the free samples. Did you receive a Patch while in the game or did you just get the achievement?

Either you don't get the patch in the game or perhaps you can but if so there's a glitch where it's possible to get the achievement for the patch even if you forgot to claim it -- I got some dialogue saying I was "on my way" to a wedzel wolf patch, then beat the game without ever "receiving one" but the achievement claimed I did as well.

Are you sure it is the patch you are missing? Did you deal with the bees on the picnic table where you got the berries?

yep i did, last time i removed it after falling on the table, this time i cleared it before that. Was reading thou that this shouldn't make a difference because you can get every achievement in one run and you need the bees on the table for "Pink Badger Don't Care"

If i understand correctly no one of you has a Patch in their inventory and still recieved the Achievement?

So i finished the game again, but didn't get the achievement....
Still i noticed something: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=496715153

The Blacksmith holds the Dagger and the Patch in her Hands, and the Baker his Ring. But the Merchants don't hold anything thou i finished the potion? Further i noticed after watching some gameplay footage of other people that their color changing potion makes the Juice in the Duel of Wits actually white! Mine is yellow. Did i forget an ingredient in the potion? Isn't it just the Frog i need?
Hibi Aug 9, 2015 @ 7:12am
Ooh yes, you need to give them both the frog and the hypnotic feather. It's not obvious the feather is a potion ingredient but when you get it you're told to give it to the merchants and when you give it to them they add it to the potion.

ah damn it... do i get a powder for the troll and her croissants then later on? Because i need to set her asleep as you probably know. i thought i need the feather for that.
Hibi Aug 9, 2015 @ 11:43am
It's a bit silly, after you give them the feather they'll literally trade you an equivalent hypnosis item. The powder they give you "needs raisins" which I've seen some confused comments about, as people go around looking for raisins, but she's actually eating raisin croissants so that's a red herring, you just dump it on the croissants and it works.

okay, that really is a bit silly. You'd expect loosing the leaf because it's needed fully for the Potion. But well, at least i figured it out now. Thanks for your help

Yeah, I think it's supposed to be a test of whether you'll risk losing an item you need for your quest in order to be of assistance to the characters -- hence the "helping hat" reward for doing it. It's a bit clever from that perspective but I think it would have been more meaningful if you did have to find a different (and more difficult) method of getting the horn without the hypnosis feather.

didn't think of it that way, pretty clever then actually!

To my knowledge you don't actually get the patch in the game, it's assumed Graham got it if he did a good job at keeping the wolves out. Though my first time I accidentally screwed that up and went back and played through a whole second time to get the patch. I noticed at the end if you screwed up, old Graham says although he didn't get the patch, it was a good first day in Daventry. If you do get the patch, he just says it was a good first day in Daventry and doesn't even mention the patch.

alright! Well it looks like i got the Patch every time then. But it was hard to figure out i didn't complete the potion. They never mention you forgot a ingredient when you receive the color changing potion although you didn't give them the leaf.

I went back just now myself to complete the last part and see my ending picture. Stupid me, I didn't even realize that it shows all your decisions and consequences with everything from the episode! Strange...My potion people aren't holding anything either, but I did everything with them. Although there is a key difference with them in mine and the picture above. In mine, they have pearly white shiny teeth. hang on, think it will be easier if I just snap a picture to show. Lol
