Chapter Two Day Five Question (SPOILERS)
I already took care of all the goblin guards. I ended up using the bolt cutters to free Amaya, because I thought I could get a chance to free every single prisoner with the bolt cutters.

Does choosing Amaya (the blacksmith) change the story in any way? I wanted to go with the "Path of Compassion" (whatever that means, still not clear on the whole 'path' system). Will choosing Amaya change the story somehow?

Not really sure, honestly. Amaya is pretty much the "bravery" path, the bakers for "compassion", and the Hobblepots for "wisdom". But so long as you kept all the townsfolk in good health, you should be able to take your pick of who to visit in chapter 3. Hmm, but you will get a small negative dialogue about leaving Bramble behind because she's pregnant, if that's going to bug you at all (but it's nothing that has any bearing on gameplay, I don't think).

Anyway, chapter 4 seems to be when your path is solidified. Despite saving everyone in chapter 2, it seemed I was locked into who I could visit in that chapter. Again, not sure, but I think that choice was reflective of how chapter 1 was played. Dunno if it was how I handled the dragon at the beginning, how the eye contest was completed, or some combination of things.

Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it too much. We won't know the full extent of some choices until the full game is out, but so far, there's not a whole lot of gameplay variation when you get right down to it.

Whoever you use the bolt cutter on, that's the route you're locked into for the rest of Chapter 2. Very small changes happen because of this, such as lines through the rest of the chapter, who Graham inquires about at the start of the next chapter, and maybe a couple of other things I haven't even thought about. It's not at all important, though, and if you really want to, play through the whole game 3 times to see the various different iterations.

Ok, thanks! From what I understand there's not much left to chapter 2 anyways, right?

Also, on another note, I wish the game would point that out before you make the decision :P. Like, "I was about to use the bolt cutter on this prisoner, but was I REALLY sure that's who I wanted to free?"

I don't like using online walkthrough to spoil the game for myself, but sometimes I feel like I need to just to make sure I get the outcome I want. Otherwise I might make big decisions without realizing it

I agree. When I first played episode 2, I wanted to save the blacksmith and though I was supposed to rescue her last because of a walk through I was following - episode 2 was the only chapter I used a walk through since I wanted to save everyone in my playthrough and didn't want to replay the episode.

I read the guide wrong due to it saying that one should give her the broom sword last (before finishing the quests for the other prisoners) as she would sound the alarm - I took that as rescuing her last. Believing that the episode would let you free all the prisoners, I freed the magic users "first".

I ended up playing it again when episode 4 was released due to the Windows Anniversary update deleting my save - I made a back up at the last puzzle in episode 1, so I spent 6 hours replaying the end of episode 1 to 3. I decided to go with magic users again, but gotten all the coins (I skipped the last one in my last play through because of the broom sword.

I thought the same thing, Graham says before giving her the sword it'll trigger a "lockdown," I thought it meant you need to make a mad dash outside of the prison but it just means the goblins force you to go to sleep and end the day
