Stuck at chapter 1 due to the lack of coins

So I have no coins left to buy the pie to give it the troll to cross the bridge. I'm at the speed/strength tests and i have given the pumpkin to the old couple and gave them my last coin, and yes my last coin was from the merchant the I encountered in the goblins section. I wish I told the troll that i'm also a troll tbh. Do I have to start the game all over again because of 1 coin?

So you got the gold coin from the goblin, but have you finished the pumpkin lantern and gone through the cave? If you have, there should be a gold coin lying on the other end.

Im in the same boat. I have no coins left. I need one to get the blue lantern. I didnt free the merchant. Please help.

Hi Rognik I have spent the coins. Now I need a coin to buy the blue lantern and also one to buy a pie in the Bakers shop. That is 2 coins I need. I know there is a coin over the troll bridge but I need to give him something sweet.
Any help would be appreciated. I love this game. I got hooked in the 80

Have you been down the well? It sounds like you spent your coin in the weapon shop, so you'll need to finish the well before you can get another coin.

I have been down the well two times and all good there. However I never managed to save the Merchant being carried off with the Gobblins. Im going around in circles. Hard to know what I spent the coins on but I certainly need them now.
Im needing bitter root which means I need to get over the troll bridge. I need to feed the troll a pie. I need a gold coin for the pie.
I need a gold coin for the pumpkin lantern. so I need 2 gold coins.
Im feeling like Ive reached the end. Ive done masses of research but getting nowhere.
Any help please.

Opps I meant to say I need the work order which is over the bridge. The work order will get me crumbler which will crush the stone and I will get the bitter root..

Then you need to save the merchant since you now know how to use a bow. When you do, you can get a coin from his shop.

how do I go back and save the merchant. Ive already progressed having not saved the merchant. Can I replay?

There is a way to get back to the merchant. I'm afraid I don't remember at the moment. I'll have to replay the chapter to remember how. There should be something in your inventory to help you get over there, though, so you can get to him and rescue the merchant.

Im totally stumped. Nothing in my inventory to get me back. It is closed off. Only the merchants caravan where I found the feather. No gold coin there. Suggest game has a few extra gold coins scattered in places that are accessible. Im feeling that its time to give up as there appears to be no solution for me.
