Chapter 3 Ice Tower Madness

So...I've spent the last 2-3 hours trying to climb this thing... I can somewhat reliably make it to the ledge with the weird steps some other people have complained about. Graham rarely climbs these "steps", and because time is of the essence, I don't have time to try a million different angles like other people have tried. I've looked at other discussions, and people are like, Just try approaching those steps from different angles until you get it right. He also gets stuck a lot on the first ledge in that portion of climbing the tower. Also, only for chapter 3, any time I do a climb or step to the upper right that requires a space bar, I have to click. Finally, he's insanely slow to respond to click or space bar or arrow keys (btw, WASD also does not work with this game on my computer, even though it's supposed to). I've tried lowering the texture quality, turning off my internet to reduce background program interference, and it's still just as slow and jerky, and Graham gets stuck in the same spot. Any other ideas? Or anybody hear from the Sierra support about a patch or anything since others have complained? (I don't expect a patch because of how old this game is, but come on! I want to be able to finish the chapter and play it through.)

About the only trick I've had to recommend is that just before you try to make a diagonal jump, quickly release the direction buttons as you jump. That is what worked for me. Outside of that, all I can say is practice and try different angles. It's always been extremely laggy for me, but I managed to finish the chapter twice, once for each princess. It should be doable, and if you can't, I might recommend just watching a playthrough on YouTube.

As for a patch, don't expect anything from it. Before even the entire series was finished, the website stopped updating and was probably abandoned. There has never been official word from anyone at the studio in this forum that I know. The game finished, and with the obligation completed, it's pretty much abandoned.

For anybody who reads this, my husband just tried and got it on the second try! He pretty much just clicked non-stop until he got to the top of the tower. Don't wait until you get to the next jump.
