Whisper portrait signature before race?

Am I crazy or was there a way to get Whisper to sign his portrait before the race and then give it to the guard to have him forfeit? Cause I remember thinking that must be an option after they ask you to get Achaka’s signature on his portrait since that is require for any knight hopefuls who wish to forfeit / drop out of the running, but I can’t remember if I ever found a way to do it.

You will want to get Whisper to autograph his picture, but not until after he loses in the battle. I don't think there's any way to get him to sign it before, though.

I don't think Whisper can be found outside of cutscenes after getting his portrait, but before entering the Duel of Speed. Would be pretty amusing if what you're suggesting is a possibility, but I can't see how it would work.

That's the answer. I have played the game three times now, but this is the only way. Bit sucks, but it's good enough.

that sucks, it makes so much sense, I feel like that should have been an option. It's like one of my only complaints I have for this reboot, but it's still one of the finest examples of a modern adventure game that still honors the classics, particularly the first chapter is one of the finest examples of such games to show someone. It feels like a classic adventure in it's concept, structure, and humor.
