Combining genres
So I been having my eye on Tyrano Builder for a while, I been wanting to make a visual novel for quite some time. I can see game supports javascripths for mini games, but I also learned from a quick google search that java is a slow scripth type and more advance stuff is better of beng written in other scripths. Now combining genres is an interesting beast, I been thinking about it for a while, to be honest i am very inspired by the games made by arc-sys which is basicly visual novels and fighting games. You pick your routes read your dialouge and BANG suddenly you have a complex fghting game to play in middle of the story, or you can jsut ignore the Visual novel aspect and go directly into the arcade or online mode. I am not saying I want to do a fighting game, but if I wanted to do something similar with a complex different genre type game within the visual novel, I would probably need more than just Java scripth. In actuallity I want to make a trading card game like engine and have the matches of the card game interrupt the story of the visual novel the same way the fighting game does in Blazblue. I want to have a constant access to the deck box thorughout the visual novel, perhaps from the pause menu for customization an well an arcade mode as well as a versus mode similar to a fighting game, but with card games. Does Tyranobuilder in any way shape or form have the flexibillity that someone with a proper scripth and expertise could pull something like this off using it? Or am I better of trying to make my own engine form scratch?

This game looks very nice, congrats to ODBear Studios for that, but I read on another post that not every JS command works on TB, is that true or just a misunderstand ?

Thanks for your replies, this looks rather simplistic, and I still have the thoughts about weither or not Java is too slow a scripth for more complex card games, but knowing it at least is plausible deffinitly helps

Just to clarify Java and Javascript are two different langauges which are unrelated. As for if its "too slow" I am currently unaware of what someone means by a slow script, yes javascript can slow down given elements but that is more based on how you use it then the script itself, due to javascript being webbased you generally see post about it slowing something down on a webpage based upon how they are calling given elements outside of the website itself.

Thank you for you help then, Jave and Javascripth are different noted down, good thing I don't plan on doing this alone or I would be in deep water programming wise XD, writing, character design as well as card game design are were my expertise lies after all, It's probably obvious to tell I have little to no experience with actually programming, altho I have been playing around with Mugen and Renpy
