Game looks really dark...
The game looks really dark at times, almost as if my blacks are being crushed. Any idea of what's causing this, or some brightness option that I can adjust?

Loving the game so far, but some places are just too dark for comfort.

Yeah, it's a dark game. Bump up your monitor settings in the control panel.

XIII's cutscenes suffer from black crush too. I knew they weren't supposed to look that way because i'd played the game on console several times. I remember spending ages fiddling with my GPU and TV settings before finding out that - of course - it was the way SE had implemented cutscenes in the PC version and nothing to do wth my hardware.

In the case of LR I remember the black crush being on console too. Together with the low res textues everywhere and horrible framerate I was quite disappointed. Final Fantasy games used to be so visually stunning and have great performance, I don't know what happened.

Go to Lux at night and adjust from there, don't do it in Dead Dunes during the day. :3

it's not only dark, but i feel, FF13-1 and FF13-2 have more better graphic and more beautiful than FF13-3

Yeah, LR's visuals are somewhat bland all in all. 13-2 has the best visuals in the series, I think.

Dude, that's what we're talking about, the game is too dark on a properly calibrated monitor. :D But yes, that web page is preegood.

Yup, this game has crushed blacks. I run this game using a custom profile with gamma set to 1.5 instead of the usual value of 1. I do not know why all games do not ship with an in-game gamma setting.

IKR, or at least, IDK have some kind of standard that defines what is proper calibration and when using something non-standard have proper notifications and deliniate what has changed... but then again, we live in a world where first world countries are scared of their own shadows and doped up on drugs. Le Sigh.
