"Gysahl Green glitch" becoming a huge problem that needs fixed.
Hello everyone, I go by Cith or TheOOT in the online world. I wanted to create this post to bring the Gysahl Green glitch to the attention of others and hopefully Square Enix in hopes that it can be fixed.

So what is the Gysahl Green glitch exactly? There are three different ways I have seen that Gysahl Greens can glitch.

1. The patches in which the Gysahl Greens were planted on become completely broken. Your Gysahl Green you planted is gone and you can't use that patch anymore to plant Gysahl Greens.

2. The Gysahl Green that you planted appears to be there, but you can not loot it. I clearly demonstrate this version of glitch in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzS5MPiYZ20

3. The Gysahl Green is consumed but you can still use the patch and simply replant another Gysahl Green.

So why is this a huge problem? To advance the main story, you must heal the Angel of Valhalla by feeding it. So as a speedrunner of Lightning Returns, this creates a huge problem for us as we rely on it as the fastest way to obtain items to feed to the Chocobo. However this obviously does not only affect speedrunners, and is a problematic issue for anyone playing the game, since as I said healing the Chocobo is required to complete the main story. The Gysahl Green glitch is not intended and appears to just be something that went wrong when the game was ported to PC.

Hopefully we can reach out to Square Enix and get them to fix this. Thank you for your time!

Mildly infuriating but not a big deal

When you play you first game it's annoying, if you are already NG+ though.. Then you have different options to quickly get the chocobo to full HP.

true.

at first run it can be annoying but at NG you carry over all your items, just make enough chocobulls or another item like that and you'll heal AoV in no time without leaving the village

Hey, yeah this glitch is annoying. Your best bet is to send an e-mail to Square support: https://support.eu.square-enix.com/

And make a thread on the Square Enix Lightning Returns Forum: http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=1445&page=85&p=2194442#post2194442

There's a moderator on there called Grimoire that is pretty good at responding.

Unless you speedrun the game like the OP and a number of other people do. A casual player MIGHT not have an issue, but even then, it's still a broken thing in a manditory part of the game and it means the game doesn't play as intended for them.
Remember the greens are not just for healing the white chocobo but also for a board quest.
Just consider a first time player, not from the perspective of those who even know about the alternates (which again, isn't even true for everything)

i never used planted greens to heal Odin...there are other options and this is a bug but it's not game breaking as there are other means to heal the chocobo.

Speed runing is alllll about finding bugs and using them for your adventage.

This glitch infuriates me, I had every one of them happen to me at some point in my Playthroughs, I really hope it will get fixed soon, that never happened to me on Console!

We should make some noise on this Square Enix thread about this: http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=184469&p=2191061#post2191061

All my patches stopped working yesterday, very annoying as I needed Gysahl Greens for the Canvas of Prayers.

Hey guys, Square Enix finally responded to my e-mail regarding this bug. They said that they couldn't replicate the issue which is disappointing.

I'll still continue to message them in hope of helping them find the bug, but if everyone else could also send them a message describing when they experienced the bug it would really help, be sure to state that it only happens on the PC version.

Here's where to send an e-mail to: http://support.eu.square-enix.com/contacttop.php?id=9521&la=2

Thanks! :)

Thanks Sammykneen, it's good to know that they responded and are at least aware of it. It is disappointing to hear they can not replicate the bug as in my case it seems to happen about 50% of the time, but hopefully they will look into it further.

No problem! If you drop them a line and let them know when it happens to you, maybe it'll presuade them to look into it further.

So,have they fixed this issue ?
kaay Apr 22, 2016 @ 6:54am
They can not replicate....i think thats a lie because this issue happens to a lot of people.
Basically what this means is that if it aint game breaking they dont give a sh*t.
