more hints at Lightning being gay?

During the dicussion you have with the NPC that gives you the soul seeds quest in Luxerion, there was an interesting little exchange between Lightning and the the quest giver.

(parapharsing because I didn't have a save anywhere near this and couldn't easily go back and re-watch the discussion)

Its common sense her response meant nothing other than the person is making a blanket judgment and doesn't know who the hell light is.
She could be straight/gay/bisexual/asexual... We'd never know, she never met any romantic relationships. Altho she did seem to care about hope a lot, not sure if that was romantic.

While it's true that Hope had a crush on Vanille (note: HAD), something that's canon because Lightning directly mentioned it in LR, Squeenix has done everything it can to force-ship Hope and Lightning. The only reason they regressed Hope's age is that they didn't want the fans to get all creepy fanfic when he worked together with her in LR, or was seen with her by a car in Reminiscence. That doesn't eliminate the fact that Lightning sees him as an adult, and the two are frolicking in Reminiscence - Squeenix obviously ships them.

The closet thing we have to a gay couple in FF13 is Fang and Vanille. They're constantly stated to be "closer than family" and Fang wraps her arms around Vanille, holding her tight and grasping her hands at the end of LR. It still looks like a best friends thing to me, but it's the closest anyone will ever get to homosexuality in the FF13 games.

Agreed rezilia, my thoughts exactly. As far as we know fang/vanille could be either or, and there's nothing wrong with speculating that they are, I even made a thread about it in the 13 forums.
But with light claiming she's a lesbian, well there's no proof for it whatsoever, none...

She wasn't depressed in 13/13-2? I mean in 13 she was incredibly standoffish and angry. Can't really blame her with the circumstances, in 13-2 she was locked in an ongoing battle with a real psycopath, so yea... Pretty sure lightning never got even a few chances to really be happy, think that's why we only really saw her smile a few times.

Altho it never turned her into an immoral edeglord who did bad things, she still stuck to her convictions, I can't blame her for not being happy, who would be happy in terrible situations?

She was definitely depressed in 13/13-2, but not in LR since she had no emotions at all in LR due to BV ripping them out of her.
