Change the language to japanese

Can I change the language to japanese when I've started a game in english?because when I do,appears an error.

I am in Japan and I want to Read-play in English (dialogue in Japanese is Ok [but reading Kanji is impossible]), but the Steam buy page tells me it will ALL be in Japanese, language and text.

2,200 en.

If I bought it, maybe I could find the Japanese language file if I could get the English TEXT/INTERFACE langage file in exchange... (tinyupload) But I dont like risk.

Not sure why they have a rope around the games neck. But, when I think... piracy could be a reason.

It's strange,but if I start a game in japanese I can hear the voices in japanese but I can't change the language if the game file is in english or if I start a game in japanese and I want the english language if it's in japanese. :////

It's strange,but if I start a game in japanese I can hear the voices in japanese but I can't change the language if the game file is in english or if I start a game in japanese and I want the english language if it's in japanese. :////

Its a case of one or the other it seems. They will be linked in the game files.

Yes you can. You just need to reboot the game after changing the language.

What kind of error? Have u tried verifying the game files using steam?

Maybe the settings thing is an issue. Like in the C:Documents drive where saved games are. Maybe that needs deleting as well as a full uninstall: then reboot, then re-install.

I am having problems with Steam iteself. As I have to type in a Desktop Word Documnet and copy Paste into Steam; because when I try and type a comment in Steam, it all comes up in Japanese Hiragana/KANJI (which I dont read).

Just download an English keyboard layout to be able to type comments properly... It's not that difficult.

It just happens sometimes... occasionally for days at a time.

Maybe just brushing a finger across the wrong key on a keyboard with 4 seperate buttons which turns the text to Japanese IN STEAM ONLY (Word etc & Google etc... all work in Engish while Steam locks in Japanese).

If it was in Windows, then all the text would be in Japanese.

But thanks for your consideration.

I already own this game in English on PS3 but I'd like to know if it's effectively region-locked just because I live in Japan. It's frustrating enough with Nintendo consoles and some Steam games. If region locking is going to be implemented more and more on Steam, I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm pretty sure it works like this:-

`The game Spoken language is in Japanese (cannot be altered); the Text Dialoge can be set to English (can be altered).

Thanks for the reply, Kaizen. It looks like XIII-2 has English text with Japanese voices as an option, but LR does not. The Steam store gives different notices for each.
