I downloaded it, and it's in Japanese. How do i make this in English?

Have you tried going into your Library > LR properties > Language > switch to English?

You might not have the option depending on your region, though.

I hit the ingame option and it sets it back to Japanese saying I need to download the pack... I bought the game through steam on the summer sale...

same Problem here. I also tried to change the showed buttons in the tutorial from keyboard to controller... doesnt work either

i had same issue using heapdhones and for some reason changed output from headphones to speakers and it start working

when you change the option from japanese to english you will see a dialogue that says to reboot the game. this is not merely restarting it but using the 'file' menu located in the upper left of the screen and selecting the 'reboot' option. i believe this recompiles the game in some way to work with the new settings. hope this helps. it is a pretty game to be sure as far as graphics go. just bought it on the summer sale myself and look forward to losing many hours in it's environment, even with the time constraints it has for completion.

OK. Sorry for the delayed response but here is what I have done to get english linguistics enabled in-game (I have tested this to make sure I was able to hear both languages). When the game gets to the start screen with the LOAD/CONTINUE/SETTINGS options displayed I went into settings and at the top of the list was the VOICE option > I pressed the enter key and from the list selected English(default) after which a dialogue box popped up stating that to enable language pack I needed to reboot the game > I then hit the Backspace key to exit the settings menu and moved my mouse to the upper left corner of the screen until a menu bar appeared with three options, the first was the 'File' option which I than selected giving me two more options REBOOT/QUIT > I selected the reboot option ,the game rebooted and the language I selected was than what I heard in-game. Will try to stay up on this to see if this works for you. Best wishes.

While you are in Japan, the store page for this game (unlike every other FF game on steam, except 7 and 8 which are unavailable in Japan for some reason) has a notification below the screenshots and above the price which states that the game doesn't contain English interface or voice data (although the language section shows a variety of languages supported for text and English and Japanese for audio).
So people who buy the game while in Japan apparently get a different game, have the people who successfully changed their language settings confirmed that they actually have the Japanese region version?

Nope. Live in 'Merica. My bad. I was replying about the North American version. Hope they fix it for the Japanese region version cause it is a great game. Good looking out.

I don't suppose they will, but it is odd that it's only this game. I guess it was developed by a subcontractor that turned out to be tedious with licensing so they just left it.

Nahhh they wont fix it which sucks. I guess I better continue with studying Japanese since I live here and playing PC games causes these kinds of problems quite often
