Transfer Saves from PC Game Pass
Hey everyone, wanted to ask if it was possible for me to transfer my save files from the windows store/game pass edition to the steam edition? I have located the save files so that should not be a problem, but am not sure if I should buy the steam edition and transfer my ~20 hour saves over. The only reason I would do this is for some modding capabilities which game pass prevents afaik. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I renamed one of the files to lrff13-50 (so that it'd just replace my auto-save file), and it loaded!

I can't guarantee that it won't cause issues down-the-line, but given that both files are 536 KB, I really don't see why it would

(In fact, looking at the properties, both my saves, and your converted save, are 548,000 bytes/548,864 bytes on disk, so they very likely are exactly the same data wise)

If you upload a save to smth like google drive or dropbox and link to it, I can try loading the save up on the steam version and let you know if it works :)

For reference, on the Steam ver (looking in my folder) the saves are named

lrff13-00.dat

and are 536 KB in size (The autosave file is number 50)

If they look the same in the MS store version then they'll presumably work

Here's the link with everything contained within the save folder of the ms store version, not sure if these are correct because of naming conventions, but according to online guides, these should be the proper saves: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t0O4u3ad2RLlFoCT-hu2vaHHwNHBX9EV?usp=sharing

May I ask you that where is the save file of windows store version? I want to do just the same thing.

Your save data should be located at

C:/Users/[YOUR NAME]/AppData/Local/Packages/[String of code.LRFFXII_more code]/SystemAppData/wgs/[String of code]/[Another string of code]

Within here you will find files and also a container.[number] file, the coded files that aren't the container are your save files.

you think it's possible to transfer the steam edition save to the game pass version on pc so it can be stored in the cloud and later played on my xbox? :)

I'm thinking no because the steam version has loads of dlc unlocked but the game pass version is only the base game.

well....it did work...it transfered my steam save over to the game pass version but it appears that the game pass pc version does not sync with the xbox version because the game doesn't support "play anywhere"

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...I thought all game pass saves were shared across pc and xbox but guess not.
