MEDIEVAL: Total War™ - Gold Edition

MEDIEVAL: Total War™ - Gold Edition

Obtain ISO of the Game
Hi all! I'd have a question, which may sound quite unusual. I try to explain my situation.

I owe a MacBook Air, and unfortunately Medieval 1 (which, as for me, is the best title of the Total War Saga) has not been developed for OSX. So, my only choice would be to play it on a Windows PC, but I happen to have none with current OSs, nor with WiFi connection. The only Windows PC I have is an old IBM, with Windows XP, and whose WiFi board seems to be broken (and anyway, I think it wouldn't be that wise to use Steam on an operative system for which security updates are no more released since years, you know with the credit card datas and the like). So, I tried to install Medieval 1 on this PC with a physical copy of Medieval 1 I have, but this physical copy seems to be broken, for the installing procedure always stop (and sometimes the disk is not even read); alternatively, I tried to make an ISO out of this physical copy, but think that the problem the disk has is inherited by the ISO, from which I can indeed now install, but not run the game.

So, I was wondering whether there was the possibility to work it out this way. Buy Medieval 1 for Windows on Steam, obtain an ISO from this bought virtual copy, and install it on the old creepy IBM with Windows XP. My question thus is: do you know whether one can obtain an ISO from a bought game on Steam?

Thank you and sorry for my english!

I think you'll need to purchase another license. Your physical copy does not seem to be working, have you tried to clean the DVD?

Straight out of the manual, page 87, note item (c)

Thank you for your (very detailed) answer. So ok, got it. It seems I need either to buy another physical copy of the game, or to buy a new Windows PC, where to play a Steam copy.

It's sad FERAL didn't make any porting for OSX...they adapted any title of the saga starting from Rome 1, but adapting Medieval 1 should not demand such an effort after all. And I am sure there is plenty of MAC people wishing to play that unforgettable, very very very good, chapter. True medieval atmosphere!
