Does this game work on Windows Vista?

I tried to install the original game from cds and play the game on Vista but failed. Does the Steam version work on Vista?

It should, I bought it when I had Win 7 Pro, worked on 8.1 Pro, and is running well on 10 Pro now. But, I had to play around with the resalution settings to get the game to play on the listed operating systems. Personaly, I skiped Vista and jumped from XP Pro to 7.1 Pro. or known as Win 7 SP1. Win 7 was just a working version of Vista, as Vista was a bug ridden piece of crap when reslieced and was why XP Pro support was extended untill the reliece of Win 7. I have always run Pro of every Win systom I use and skip the operating systems that come out defective like 95 and Vista. I have to ask though, Vista SP2 is no longer suported and considered a dead system, so why are you still running it? I do not think that Steam will suport issues with games running on Vista. See the table below on end of support.

If you have no PC running a newer operating system, just jump to a Win 10 Pro system. I know, for the most part, the game will run with tweeking of the resalutions on win 10.

Thank you for the info.
I have an older PC which runs on Linux mostly which is fine for most of the things I need. I kept Vista on one HD to play the games I can not make playable on Linux.
