The thing that bothered me was upgrading L15 weapons? Is there a way that weapons level up? I know you have a chance to increase there rarity by combining 3 but do they actually level up tp 50 if you upgrade them?
cards : learn which ones to hang on to / buy, meaning those that suit your playstyle, and those that can be upgraded to legendary for crafting - not all card types can - also always buy legs or strong divine / wicked cards regardless of type as they are very handy in crafting
powers : long term, anything non legendary is entirely useless - so sell everything that is not at least rare & craft yourself strong rares so you can put all legs towards outfit upgrades OR keep it simple & just sell everything that is not at least legendary ^^
weapons : sell everything you aren't actually going to use - only keep & craft your two favorite weapon types - until you obtain your favorite modifier combos anyway, after which, stick to those until end game when you can afford to upgrade / buff them
Why would you sell demon powers??
1) You can upgrade lower ones into higher rarity
2) You can improve weapon stats with non-legendary powers too.
2) correct, and thanks because I missed that entirely
Take a rare Boomerang for example. Preferrably one with high damage and small size. Then keep transmuting this one with 3 random demon powers of the same quality (thus increasing the size). After about 5 or more upgrades, your rare Boomerang will turn Legendary.
edit: the screenshot will say it all

now I have a reason to gamble for my ultimate weapon
( lvl 44 and *still* using Elise's Dancing Scythe of Vampirism as main )
no reason to try it since recipes clearly indicate all rarity changes... except this one ofc ^^
would have stumbled upon it eventuelly trying to max a rare, nice knowing up front
so errata, powers : keep absolutely all of them
use grays & greens to upgrade existing weapon properties
use rares to make legendary powers
use leg powers to upgrade outfits / enchant weapons + craft your 2 powers
I suspect that if you keep upgrading eventually when that 'tiny increase in effect' takes the bar to then end that you will get an increase in rarity. One has to wonder if you increase commons or uncommons like this wether they will go up a rarity when you fill the bar? Seems likely to me.
Still seems somewhat inefficient but the chance to get a bump in rarity for something you want from the junk you don't is worth considering.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed. I think I have a pretty clear picture now!
Well, except for whats currently on my mind.....is it worth gambling with weapons (Im thinking rares) on the off chance of getting a legendary or even another ideal prefix/suffix rare? I think the answer there is probably yes if you can afford all the cards you might want to buy have a go?
I got my legendary weapons from gambling. Before I had legendaries, I used to sell all greens and gamble all rares. So yes, if you don't need money, go for it.
that was actually in the game since short after the start of early access
that's probably not in the codex because, just like upgrading the level of a weapon it doesn't take a fix number of transmutations.
a demon power will increase it's rarity when the sum of both properties is at or over a certain number.
Is there any point in actually upgrading legendary weapons (with other legs I presume?) via the transmute-thingy?
if you're looking for a weapon to increase your loot amout and qualitiy and exp transmuting white weapons makes total sense since you're only looking for a stat comb (and it's a 100% chance to get a green).
you can then give the green wep the 3rd stat by either using demon powers or a powerstone and upgrade it's stats (but not dmg and crit since you don't need them on such a wep) to max.
1 stat on a legend. is always at max. (more then it can ever get on any other weapon). but you can still upgrade the dmg, crit chance and the 2nd stat to the max.
