Reached level 50 - Constant death
New player on normal using 5 hexes, well I was, now down to 2. Have 2 purple weapons both with 80 health steal on hit. Reached level 50 last night & the difficulty change was instant. It felt so sudden that my character feels so weak I can't farm effectively anymore which I was having a lot of fun doing & I can't even continue with the story. Up to Vail the Immortal, but the multiple projectiles, health steal, trying to constantly dodge means I can't attack, I'm slowed so I can't move, stun-locked, ranged weapon is useless as I'm swarmed by multiple enemies at once.

I'm dying so many times so easily to the same enemies I was before slaughtering, that it's just become repetative & boring. Multiple times last night & today I've gone back to try again, but it's the same thing everytime. It feels like I've entered a higher difficulty mode which I'm not yet ready for. I don't really feel prepared.

I know I'm still very new to the game, but now I'm dying far too often where as before this wasn't happening no where near as frequently. Starting to lose interest as I'm not sure what I can change, now that I'm using better items than I was before. It's not the dying I have a problem with, it's the frequency due to feeling so weak against mobs of enemies swarming, spamming projectiles & health stealing all at the same time.

Do I start a new character, ignore farming & just level up as I play through the story instead?

Is it intentional that after level 50 the game suddenly becomes so much more difficult even on normal mode?

I'm restricted on what I can currently change with my character as I don't have access to much now that I can't really clear out areas very effectively.

Am I being forced into a multiplayer/co-op?

I'm not really sure what anyone can say to help me, but any advice would be great.

Try use sword legendary card and a decent sword cause it gives you constant regenaretion buff, then try to upgrade your armor set to improve your armor, change demon power to denfensive ones like time bubble and diamond shied.
You can also log in to online chat and ask for some bounty/treasure hunt since this is the fastest way to get loot:)

at the mausoleum the main problem is more the number of enemies so blink as demonpower or the hand-mortar with it's jump attack to get away from the enemies can make the fight much easier. blink also gives you a speed buff.
did you try the mausoleum before lvl 50?

look out for the big sceletons champions (especially those with blink) they can kill you with 1-2 hits if you got the brutality hex on.

the guardian destiny card is also good to get some space. (or moon, sun, maybe thorns)

another way is to use the 1t special attack of the tome to let your enemies run into a wall that stops them and does enough dmg to kill all the small ones. :hunterhat:

Who do I ask for bounties or treasure hunts from? Do I have to play with others & if so is the loot shared or is it who ever grabs the item first?

I have a purple sword creating shock orbs on crit. I think I have a sword legendary card of some kind in my stash. I'll try this out thanks.

I added as many purple cards to my armor as I could to upgrade it, I only need to add a few more legendary demon powers.

I'm using the time bubble & healing aura, but the bubble is what I mostly use. I did have a purple diamond in my stash, not sure if I used it on my armor or not though.

I was having so much fun farming items I spent hours just clearing the same area collecting loot & repeating. I completely forgot about the story :yay:

I have several different purple guns so I'll check if I have the hand-mortar. I remember having a purple blink demon power, not sure if I used it on my armor though. I have a purple divine moon card in my stash so I can try that too.

I don't know if I've been to the mausoleum yet or not. Everything is still new to me so it's possible, but atm I'm trying to kill Vail the Immortal.

Thanks for the tips.

btw:rare weapons can be as good or even better then legendary ones.

since your going to fighting many enem `s multiple rare or even only uncommon moon cards that do less dmg explosion more often (max. number of moon-cards in 5 secs) then a high dmg explosion about every 5 secs. the main condition would be that you do crits consistenly. (e.g. splittiming with a shotgun or a scythe; every 3rd strike in a row with a sword; with a mortar jump)

about bounties: there's a discussion with keys others found (pinned).
!bounties and treasure hunts are time limited so look for the newest ones!
!!don't start them if you haven't unlocked all areas!!
you can then redeem them through Esc -> Options -> Redeem Key

I really liked using the scythe, but dropped it to try out some purple weapons. They worked great for a short while. Now I'm trying to create another scythe again. I chenged to wildcards for the increased damage & crits which was working, but now I'm wondering whether to go back to using a vampire card (or 2) again.

I haven't unlocked all areas yet so I'll stay away from online or bounties atm plus I'm still new & still learning. Hopefully I'll get to check them out in the future when I feel ready.

I kinda wanted to experiment to try things out, which is what I was doing up until the point I'm at now as I know I'm going to make mistakes which is why I'm playing on normal. I know there's no punishment for death, but it still has become tedious to try to clear out an area to farm for items & so suddenly too.

Thanks for the info.

Go scythe all the way.
Properties: damage increase, but minimal gold; armor pen; crit damage.
Vigilante outfit (Overdrive on crits).
Brutality demon power for quick kills.
Time Bubble when you need to dodge a lot of stuff.
I use Reaper (3), Death (4), Devil (4), Vampire (4), Strength (5).
I have 3 Wicked 'bleed on crit' effects, and 1 Divine 'regenerate when below % health'. The regenerate one is so useful. The Wicked effects are mostly for the AP from the Devil card (+20 ap per wicked).

Split time attacks to apply Vulnerable (next attack will crit). The Vampire card and the Divine regeneration will keep you alive.

I would recommend looking for a scythe with the 'damage increase, but minimal gold' effect first. The damage increase is insane and gold drops are useless anyways. You get a lot more money from items. (Btw, most legendaries aren't very good.)

Remember to upgrade your gear. Get codes from the in-game chat or somewhere else. Try to get more than 9. The more you have, the more will overlap.
If you don't have codes, farming the Broodmother or killing all the Champions in the Collector's Residence works well enough. Btw, only open legendary tier (purple) Gift boxes.

To speed up the process, you can try to find a weapon with 'When equipped: find better items' or 'When equipped: find more items'. It will give you the effect even when it is in your off-hand.

Thanks for the info/advice unfortunately to get access to these items I need to be able to farm which I can't do now. I'm unable to play through the story & joining online isn't gonna be a good idea for me atm.

A couple of issues I have is where enemies can move & attack even if I try to evade or dodge where as I have to stand still to attack so I take damage either way. The enemies are on me like glue dealing damage that I cannot seem to avoid. The vampires for me are the worst with increased movement speed, attack speed, huge DPS & health steal. The other so far are the purple floating crystals. 1 - 2 hits & I'm insta-killed. Skeletons are a pain, but mostly I can handle them - apart from Vail the Immortal due to the amount of swarming enemies.
Keyboard seems unresponsive sometimes having to press the same key several times for it to perform an action. This became very frustrating, but I ignored it before level 50 as I didn't find it to be so much of an issue.

The areas I farmed were the Broodmother, Collector's Residence & Hollow something (you have to do a couple of jumps to reach higher levels & it goes round in a circle). I definitely prefer the scythe & found purple weapons I used to be inferior after level 50. I was using a 2nd weapon with XP gain & more special items. I wanted to add 'gain more items', but never came across many power stones. I think I got 3 total in my time playing. The 5 hexes also helped for XP. I really wanted to put more time into farming, collecting & crafting, but it's just not working for me.

If I decide to play again some time in the future then I'll come back to this as a reference, but for now I'm done with it & ready to move on. It's totally unplayable for me, I think it's better to put my time into something else before I begin to hate the game lol.
