AH ok must have missed reading that where ever if was written.................thanks for the heads up!! ;)
Yes now that would be a better thing to do!!
But that would really be like the definition of grinding : do the same thing over and over again to get little rewards.
And it's not like there's any other area that has a higher droprate for legendaries.
The way it is you have to think about how to complete the challenges and have to change your loadout acording to it.
I agree but it would also be great if you actually earned some from fighting your way through and finishing the Cauldron of Chaos each and every day.....................and then perhaps those items that Gaben sells wouldent be so out of reach to some players!!
I didn't say they should remove the demon souls from the challenges, I said you should also get a few from completing the caldron as well in addition.
And frankly, I don't see how grinding challenges is any different than grinding the level itself.
Basically, for those who do not enjoy the challenges that much it would be nice to also just get a few from beating the caldron itself, which is pretty difficult on it's own.
It's good that they are also a random drop, though I haven't seen any drop thusfar.
when you grind the level you can kill the enemies in any order with any weapon you like so as long as you're good enough you don't have to change anything at all.
With the challenges (if you want to complete them) you have to use different weapons and strategies to kill your enemies. This puts the player out of his/her comfort zone (the loadout they know and use) and makes every challenge different this way.
btw: you don't have to be in the cauldron to get the demon souls as random drop. it looks like they can come from every source (found 1 in a chest, 1 in a spider egg and 1 from another enemy so far and i don't have any item finding bonus).
You still have to react to the enemies and enemy compositions...there's really no difference in terms of "grinding" between doing challenges grinding for souls and beating a level for souls.
It's good that the game has an additional layer (challenges) on top of the base game for those who enjoy doing them, but there's no reason why beating a difficult map can't give you a reward (in this case souls) as well.
Personally I don't find the challenges all that fun, and consider them kind of annoying. I still enjoy the game, and I do enjoy the challenge and the time it takes to complete the cauldron. It'd be nice if for players like me completing the cauldron, which in itself takes a good bit of time and is difficult, that we could at least get a few souls for the effort.
I don't know why anyone would be against that.
i highly doubt you always change your equiped weapons, destiny cards and demon powers just because you meet a different enemy especially since you don't know what enemy comes next.
the challenges give you something to plan ahead for: a.e. if it says kills this enemy while he's stuned you have to take something with you that can stun him.
if you hate experimenting and don't want to change anything the challenges will be hard and annoying since no weapon is good for everything. but then you're probably playing the wrong game.
imho the droprate of legendary and rare things in the cauldron totally makes up for not getting demon souls on completion. if you can even get 2 legendary demon powers and 1 legendary weapon + 7 rare ones for 1 time completing the cauldron even on casual-mode without anything that makes you find better / more weapons that's totally fair.
I do it all the time, your doubt or belief is not required. But the fact remains, you are still just grinding challenges just like someone could potentially grind the level itself. Somehow discounting the idea that completing the level shouldn't grant a few souls because one is grinding and the other not comes off as silly, and kinda irrational honestly.
Why would it matter if folks got a few souls at the end for completing the level anyways? How would that negatively affect your game experience? If you completed the challenges you would still get MORE souls for your effort, so you are being rewarded additionally for it, and those who don't care about the challenges will also get a little something for completing the difficult stage as well.
I'm playing the right game, I enjoy it a lot. This is simply an area that a small change would make it that much more fun for me. I think it makes perfect sense as well...the cauldron is a difficult stage to beat on it's own, it's reasonable I think to request that the player get's a some demon souls from completing it. It's also a simple change...simply make the boss drop 2 souls or something on death.
How are "let a certain monster be killed by a certain type of monster", "kill a certain monster without demon powers" and "kill a certain monster while it is stuned" the same tasks?
If you want something that stays nearly the same all the time and gives you rewards for repeteadly doing it you can make bounty hunts and treasure hunts or enter the bottomless pit. Adding another thing that just rewards you for killing monsters any way you like would imo be other the top. (just like having 4 different types of collectibles in an open world game)
I'm also not getting why you want more reward from completing it when it already has an insane droprate. (got with my bad luck 9 legendary weapons in 7 runs) those are worth many demon souls and you can also get those you could buy from gaben for demon souls. the only thing you can't get another way are emotes, but they are relatively cheap.
so pls someone explain to me why you all want more from it?
Already explained.. It would make it more rewarding for those who aren't crazy about challenges, but still enjoy the new level and the difficulty it adds to the game.
What boggles is why you would care if demon souls dropped for completing the new level and why you are admataley opposed to it. Like, you can still do the challenges? You can still get more for grinding away the challenges? Your position stinks of irrationality.
Also, repeatingly doing challenges is text book grinding. Having to kill a monster with a scyth instead of a hammer makes no difference. It's pretending killing the monsters on each level in different order, or rolling left instead of right, stops if from being grinding.
The content is playing the same-ish map, though slightly randomized, with the exact same challenges we've been doing the for the entire game. Repeatedly doing these challenges, you are grinding up souls over and over and over and over trying to get items.
It is the definition of grinding lol.
