nobody seems to use the cavalier outfit?
I see in the builds guides that the cavalier outfit is entirely ignored.

I just started, and this tells me it's not really a good outfit for long term play. does it generate overkill too slowly? not enough armor? poor upgradability?

what's the real issue with this outfit?

I think some people just don't find it aesthetically pleasing.

I thought they all looked fine myself. *shrug*

it's alright if you're going spellcaster, but I prefer to use either the Vanguard's or the Adventurer's. I sometimes play with someone who uses a Hunter's build, and is very difficult to kill, and also I see someone who abuses the fact that if you don't complete certain attacks before you dodge, you get overdrive credit with the Highlander's as a caster base. personally, I think the latter is cheating, but as I've seen people actually cheating, I'm not as concerned about it by comparison.

Cavalier is very nice imo! You start every area with full overdrive, so you can insta-cast 2 powers, which is awesome. Other outfits lose overdrive over time, so use it or lose it, with this one you can save up and wait till you actually need it(hard enemies, or close calls).
You can reliably use your powers and if you can find a good weapon that has overdrive charge bonus it charges really fast(I found a shotgun with +94% once, but no luck since then... hope there is a legendary with that bonus).
Also while I don´t like the portrait, it does look great ingame.

Vanguard's outfit has "don't lose overdrive over time" and gives you another overdrive-use.....

actually, after I hit level 10 with the vanguard armor, I realized a LOT of challenges would be wayyyyy easier with the cavalier outfit, so I started another character with that.

yup.

all the "take no damage" missions are way easier with an uncommon diamond, the cavalier outfit, and even a crappy shotgun. I bought an armor penetrating card for those wraiths, and had few problems making it through the no damage challenges.

this suits my playstyle (slow and cautious) much better than the vanguard .

maxed it's 1000 HP, which is not as much as a Legendary Hope (1500 HP), but it's one or two non-crit hits on hard mode (more if you get an armor proc)

Yeah, figured as much :/ Oh well.. I tank it with Vampire weapons for this build so I guess it's okay.

I'm currently running a 90something% overdrive boost, and this in combination with the general consistency provided by the outfit makes the demon powers extremely useful.

Yes that one is bad, Unless I'm enlighted by some crazy build around it.
I changed it to another outfit that buffs my immunities and overkill doesn't go down plus very armor. Happier now.
